Historia
In 1909, Clementine steps off a train with her new husband, Winston. An angry woman emerges from the crowd to attack, shoving him in the direction of an oncoming train. Just before he stumbles, Clementine grabs him by his suit jacket. This will not be the last time Clementine Churchill will save her husband. Lady Clementine is the ferocious story of the ambitious woman beside Winston Churchill, the story of a partner who did not flinch through the sweeping darkness of war, and who would not surrender either to expectations or to enemies.

Really interesting account of Clementine Churchhill and her contributions during both Wars at a time when women were expected to be seen and not heard.

The Cuban Revolution took everything from sugar heiress Beatriz Perez - her family, her people, her country. Recruited by the CIA to infiltrate Fidel Castro's inner circle and pulled into the dangerous world of espionage, Beatriz is consumed by her quest for revenge and her desire to reclaim the life she lost. As the Cold War swells like a hurricane over the shores of the Florida Strait, Beatriz is caught between the clash of Cuban-American politics and the perils of a forbidden affair with a powerful man driven by ambitions of his own.

Interesting Historical Fiction
Revisado: 12-20-22
Good story involving Cubans that were forced to flee their country during the revolution and their journey trying to help their home country while trying to assimilate in America. Romance was a bit too predictable but made me want to read more about the early 60’s and Cuba Revolution!

Historia
Abraham Lincoln delivered what is considered to be the most famous speech ever at the dedication of the cemetery at Gettysburg Pennsylvania on November 19, 1863. There are five known copies of this speech in Lincoln’s handwriting, each with a slightly different text. John W Michaels reads from the Bliss copy which appears on the Lincoln Memorial in Washington. In the background we hear the U.S. Army chorus performing the Battle hymn of the Republic.

Unfortunately, not very good

I’m sorry to be negative, but this just isn’t a good reading of the Gettysburg address. The readers voice is a low bass and he just doesn’t put enough inflection into this work to make it worthy of Lincoln. And at several points during the address he drops to such a quiet whisper that it is difficult to even hear what he saying.
