Historia

Historia
Victorian London is a cesspool of crime, and Scotland Yard has only 12 detectives - known as “The Murder Squad” - to investigate thousands of murders every month. Created after the Metropolitan Police’s spectacular failure to capture Jack the Ripper, The Murder Squad suffers rampant public contempt. They have failed their citizens. When Walter Day, the squad’s newest hire, is assigned the case of the murdered detective, he finds a strange ally in the Yard’s first forensic pathologist, Dr. Bernard Kingsley.

I did enjoy the story but what a pity!
Revisado: 08-04-18
When an American author decides to write a book with an English setting he would be wise to remember certain, I think, quite important factors. The use of words such as sidewalk, block and several others are not used in England and were quite out of place, particularly within the period of the book.
Also, the narrator needs to learn to pronounce certain words properly!
Apart from these points I did enjoy the story.

Historia
On the right side of the law. Sort of. Sebastian Rudd is not your typical street lawyer. He works out of a customized bulletproof van, complete with Wi-Fi, a bar, a small fridge, fine leather chairs, a hidden gun compartment, and a heavily armed driver. He has no firm, no partners, no associates, and only one employee: his driver, who's also his bodyguard, law clerk, confidant, and golf caddy.

Historia
In the LAPD's Open-Unsolved Unit, not many murder victims die almost a decade after the crime. So when a man succumbs to complications from being shot by a stray bullet nine years earlier, Bosch catches a case in which the body is still fresh, but all other evidence is virtually nonexistent. Now Bosch and rookie Detective Lucia Soto, are tasked with solving what turns out to be a highly charged, politically sensitive case.

Great story
Revisado: 11-08-14
Would you say that listening to this book was time well-spent? Why or why not?
Listening to the book took longer than normal. I found my mind drifting because of the monotonous voice of the storyteller.
What did you like best about this story?
The plot was, as ever, excellent, Harry's guiding hand with his new partner showing his softer side
How did the narrator detract from the book?
Almost expressionless delivery.
Do you think The Burning Room needs a follow-up book? Why or why not?
Oh yes, we need to know what happens to Harry and his suspension.
Any additional comments?
Now that I have difficulty reading, I love Audible. Michael Connelly books have always been a big favourite with me. I hope we get another in this series very soon.
