Greedy & narcissists MC
Revisado: 02-07-25
Love the books over all. But when it comes to how he handles his obvious “secrets” and loot. He just keeps getting worse and worse. Being narcissistic as all hell. He can’t share anything with his squad mates and friends. He just seem to get more greedy and narcissistic. And doing to many stupid decisions. I started to hate the MC for a while. He treats no one like a friend.
He’s even willing to destroy his future, in the name of greed.
Stories like this needs to have trusted person, that the MC trusts fully. At least at this point in the story. I’m hoping we’ll get that in the next book.

Too sexualized
Revisado: 02-01-25
Story had good bones. But everything got twisted towards sex or perusing women. A lot of arbitrary shit. Too bad.

The stories in this collection will show you the world after Cradle, those left behind, and even some legends from long ago. Witness the first Uncrowned King tournament. Visit the Monarchs and their voyages in the lands beyond. Get to know the Abidan in their homes, and meet the people of new worlds as they cross paths with familiar faces. And, of course, check in on some old friends.

Not cohesive
Revisado: 01-15-25
Love the books normally. But this time we hardly got to spend time with the main character at all. Like tops 1/5th of the book. Just a lot of smaller stories. Did not give the cohesive progression to the story because of it.

Historia
Twenty-year-old Violet Sorrengail was supposed to enter the Scribe Quadrant, living a quiet life among books and history. Now, the commanding general—also known as her tough-as-talons mother—has ordered Violet to join the hundreds of candidates striving to become the elite of Navarre: dragon riders. But when you’re smaller than everyone else and your body is brittle, death is only a heartbeat away...because dragons don’t bond to “fragile” humans. They incinerate them.

Too focused on sex
Revisado: 06-09-23
The story itself is very good and interesting. But the are sex scenes like every chapter. Some times most of the chapter is a sex scene. It’s very detailed in its explanation of said scenes. And personally I feel this majorly takes away from the main story. I’m no prude, but damn. Tell the story and don’t focus on the darn sex scenes. Implications and some details are fine. But not 20min+ descriptive scenes.

Good story
Revisado: 05-11-23
Great story with good pacing and performance. The story has the ups and downs without demeaning the main character. And being a litrpg. It is one of the better that does not read stats every 5 min, for like 2 min each time.

Historia
The Founders were the first marked, and they used those powers to build kingdoms, subjugate the land, and enrich themselves. They will not suffer another to join their ranks. Lost in a world with levels, stats, and monsters, Hal fights to survive in an unforgiving land, and to escape execution from its rulers. Ingenuity and courage won’t be enough. With marked powers he doesn’t understand, he’s easy prey for all the goblins, bandits, aberrations, and foul monsters that plague the realm. He’ll need to abandon his humanity by embracing the beast within.

Nerfs (spoilers)
Revisado: 04-26-21
I like the story. But it’s very annoying when the protagonist is brought down low all the time. Loosing stats faster than he gets them. Even if he gets better in the end.
One time is fine, but twice very close to each other is just bad.

Bad choices and despair!
Revisado: 04-18-21
I really like the first books. But for me more than anything at least the part I managed to listen to before it just became too much was riddled with bad choices and despair.
Characters acted way more stupid than in previous books, and the main protagonists just failed at everything they tried to do, or just barely made it.
That is fine for a bit, but during the 6 or so hours I managed to suffer through. They just barely managed to do anything right.
One of the few books I’ve dropped mid through.
There was also way too much jumping between character POV for my liking.
All that said. Sanderson has written some of my absolute favorite books. So this might just be upon me and the state of mind I was in listening to this particular book.

Main character played down.
Revisado: 10-15-17
With a second book in a series, I'd really have liked the main character to actually be the main character, and not the secondary to a new main. Even the few times she had the possibility to shine, she was played down. Not very impressed at all. Sad since I really liked the first book!

Historia
Brash, cocky, and unbeatable with a sword (well, almost), Sam of Haywood is the most promising Paladin trainee in the kingdom of Thule. The only problem is that Sam is really Lady Samantha, daughter of the 17th duke of Haywood, and if her father has his way, she'll be marrying a Paladin, not becoming one. But Sam has never held much interest in playing damsel in distress, and so she rescues herself from a lifetime of boredom and matrimonial drudgery.
