A beautiful story with captivating, yet familiar and comforting, characters. Incredibly well read and performed. If you like period dramas, with a tiny touch of romance, and cozy charm, this book is for you.

Lovely Introduction to Georgianna

This book is a lovely introduction to a character we know so little of. Ms. Elliot does a wonderful job of creating a well rounded and lovable heroine.

I believe this volume does a wonderful job of continuing the story of Georgianna and letting her mature through hardships and triumphs. I especially love the growth it allows for Kitty Bennet.

Historia
Kitty Bennet is finished with love and romance. She lost her one-time fiancé in the Battle of Waterloo, and in the battle's aftermath saw more ugliness and suffering than she could bear. Staying with her Aunt and Uncle Gardiner in London for the winter, Kitty throws her energies into finding a husband for her hopelessly bookish sister Mary, and discovering whatever mysterious trouble is worrying her sister Jane.

Lovely Story
Revisado: 08-04-24
Ms. Elliot does a wonderful job of honoring the original work of Jane Austen while creating a world of her own. I have adored getting to know Kitty and watch her grow into a complicated and admirable heroine.

Sweet story of love in all its forms
Revisado: 02-10-24
This was such a sweet, lovely story of friendship, growing up, and discovering romantic love. I adore how it was performed! Each voice was unique and did not feel forced or silly. Everything about this felt like it was straight from the world of Jane Austen, in a real way, not in a fan fiction way. I also love that the author includes a note about her research and historical accuracy at the end. Overall it was absolutely brilliant!!

Fluffy and Stress Free Story
Revisado: 10-29-23
Admittedly, this is not my typical type of book, but I was looking for a cute little love story for the Halloween season. However, it was a bit more smutty that I tend to prefer. I’m not a prude, to each their own and all, I just feel graphic scenes interrupt the plot.
I’m also, personally, a bit over the main female character of a book disparaging herself so much. I much prefer a confident and self assured, albeit flawed, female character. Someone you can relate to, but in their confidence gives you confidence. The main character of this story, Cassie, is so frequently self disparaging, I wondered why her love interest would have anything to do with her. But, I understand that there are readers who enjoy that.
Overall, the book wasn’t bad, but it has shown that modern romance novels might not be for me.

Historia
What if Mary Bennet’s life took a different path from that laid out for her in Pride and Prejudice? What if the frustrated intellectual of the Bennet family, the marginalized middle daughter, the plain girl who takes refuge in her books, eventually found the fulfillment enjoyed by her prettier, more confident sisters? This is the plot of The Other Bennet Sister, a debut novel with exactly the affection and authority to satisfy Austen fans.

Excellent read for lovers of Pride and Prejudice
Revisado: 08-28-23
This was a lovely and heartwarming story. It gives voice to a character much forgotten in the original work, and it does so in true Jane Austen fashion and with an accuracy to the period and style that makes one forget it wasn’t Austen herself who wrote it.
The performance is spectacular. I have decided to find every book narrated by Ms. Mendonça and put them in my wish list! Genuinely, she does an amazing job at telling the story with emotion and her character voices are all distinct and well acted.
I genuinely cannot say enough wonderful things about this book or it’s narration.
