Historia
All good things must come to an end, Constant Listener, and not even Stephen King can write a story that goes on forever. The tale of Roland Deschain's relentless quest for the Dark Tower has, the author fears, sorely tried the patience of those who have followed it from its earliest chapters. But attend to it a while longer, if it pleases you, for this volume is the last, and often the last things are best.

King never misses! This was a satisfying conclusion to the Dark Tower series. I will say that the very end left me sad, but otherwise, this was amazing!

Historia
An 11-year-old boy's violated corpse is found in a town park. Eyewitnesses and fingerprints point unmistakably to one of Flint City's most popular citizens. He is Terry Maitland, Little League coach, English teacher, husband, and father of two girls. Detective Ralph Anderson, whose son Maitland once coached, orders a quick and very public arrest. Maitland has an alibi, but Anderson and the district attorney soon add DNA evidence to go with the fingerprints and witnesses. Their case seems ironclad.

Definitely worth the listen!
Revisado: 04-01-24
I had a hard time getting through the first part of the book because I just felt so bad for Terry Maitland. I actually stopped listening to it, but then I was listening to the Bill Hodges trilogy and realized this tied in with Holly Gibney so I gave it another chance. I'm really glad I did because it turned out to be a phenomenal book that had me on the edge of my seat.

Historia
Charlie Reade looks like a regular high school kid, great at baseball and football, a decent student. But he carries a heavy load. His mom was killed in a horrific accident when he was seven, and grief drove his dad to drink. Charlie learned how to take care of himself—and his dad. When Charlie is seventeen, he meets a dog named Radar and her aging master, Howard Bowditch, a recluse in a big house at the top of a big hill, with a locked shed in the backyard. Sometimes strange sounds emerge from that shed.

Historia
It is autumn 1981 when inconceivable horror comes to Blackeberg, a suburb in Sweden. The body of a teenager is found, emptied of blood, the murder rumored to be part of a ritual killing. Twelve-year-old Oskar is personally hoping that revenge has come at long last—revenge for the bullying he endures at school, day after day. But the murder is not the most important thing on his mind. A new girl has moved in next door—a girl who has never seen a Rubik's Cube before, but who can solve it at once. There is something wrong with her, though, something odd. And she only comes out at night.

A wonderful take on the classic vampire mythology!
Revisado: 12-02-23
What an amazing book! I've seen both the Swedish and English versions of the movie so I knew the premise behind the book going into it. The movies followed the book very closely, but of course the book was better. It has a lot of the classic vampire traits to it, but with some what of a twist. I definitely recommend this book! I had heard there were some hard to stomach parts, so I was prepared for them before hand, just a warning that towards the end there is some hard to get through sections. Trigger warning for attempted rape, child molestation, and gore.

Historia
With neither friends nor family, Lucy Snowe sets sail from England to find employment in a girls' boarding school in the small town of Villette. There she struggles to retain her self-possession in the face of unruly pupils, an initially suspicious headmaster and her own complex feelings, first for the school's English doctor and then for the dictatorial professor Paul Emmanuel. Drawing on her own deeply unhappy experiences as a governess in Brussels, Charlotte Brontë's last and most autobiographical novel is a powerfully moving study of isolation and the pain of unrequited love....

Stephen King returns to the characters and territory of one of his most popular novels ever, The Shining, in this instantly riveting novel about the now middle-aged Dan Torrance (the boy protagonist of The Shining) and the very special 12-year-old girl he must save from a tribe of murderous paranormals. The unapologetic intensity with which Emily Brontë wrote this story ensures that it will forever be considered one of the greatest works of English literature. A passionate tale of a chaotic and often violent love, Wuthering Heights transcends your average romance and, with its Gothic undertones, takes the listener on a journey through one man's lustful hunt for revenge.

An absolute horror of a book
Revisado: 05-07-20
The only thing that redeems this book is the narrator. I had high expectations for Wuthering Heights because it is an esteemed literary classic, but it was an absolute horror to get through. The characters are terrible people, at times they made me so angry I had to stop listening. I would never recommend this book to anyone unless it was to have someone to vent to about it.
