Not well adapted for audio
Revisado: 04-09-25
I picked this up to prepare for an interview in Java intending to listen to it while I don't have access to a computer. It doesn't seem like they put any time thinking about how to adapt this for the audio format, they just had someone read the book aloud as is. This is a problem when they are reading large blocks of code—I don't understand how anyone would benefit from that.
And the biggest problem is that there's no easy way to skip the long sections where they are just reading the code. The chapter data isn't well labeled so that wasn't useful to skip around with either. I ultimately decided to return this within 24 hours of getting it and I would not recommend it.

The prize-winning and best-selling author of Say Nothing presents a grand, devastating portrait of three generations of the Sackler family, famed for their philanthropy, whose fortune was built by Valium and whose reputation was destroyed by OxyContin. Empire of Pain is a masterpiece of narrative reporting and writing, exhaustively documented and ferociously compelling.

Devastating

It’s difficult to contemplate just how much damage one family can do, but this book certainly helps. I couldn’t put it down.
