Historia
In Compassionomics: The Revolutionary Scientific Evidence That Caring Makes a Difference, physician scientists Stephen Trzeciak and Anthony Mazzarelli uncover the eye-opening data that compassion could be a wonder drug for the 21st century. Now, for the first time ever, a rigorous review of the science - coupled with captivating stories from the front lines of medicine - demonstrates that human connection in health care matters in astonishing ways. Never before has all the evidence been synthesized together in one place.

Narration is too awful to finish
Revisado: 08-19-24
I’m not sure why this book didn’t go through the normal audio quality control process before being released but it was horrendous to listen to. Lots of verbal misses, mispronunciations, pauses, and corrections that made the audiobook difficult to immerse myself in. The premise of the book is great. The delivery stinks. I wish I could get a refund.

Historia
In Susan Orlean's mesmerizing true story of beauty and obsession is John Laroche, a renegade plant dealer and sharply handsome guy, in spite of the fact that he is missing his front teeth and has the posture of al dente spaghetti. In 1994, Laroche and three Seminole Indians were arrested with rare orchids they had stolen from a wild swamp in south Florida that is filled with some of the world's most extraordinary plants and trees. Laroche had planned to clone the orchids and then sell them for a small fortune to impassioned collectors.

Interesting in parts, boring in parts
Revisado: 06-05-23
This book was recommended to me because I’m a florist. It was fascinating in some realms, but in others, especially ones talking about the history of trials and the landscape of Florida felt drawn-out and dull. I was sold a nonfiction book that “read more like a novel”, but it definitely read as nonfiction.

Lovely stories; poor audio mixing
Revisado: 09-23-22
As a queer person, I was really excited to get my hands (ears?) on this book. I loved the structure of it and the different perspectives/religions covered by its authors. It took me several months to listen to, however, because I could not get used to the audio quality. Some chapters are loud and clear and others are mixed in such a way where the speaker’s voice sounds fuzzy and you can literally hear pages turning in the background. The chapter breakup was strange too, as an intro to the following chapter would be tacked onto the end of a previous chapter.
Content-wise, beautiful. Performance-wise, could use some audio engineering.

A stunning and salivating tour of love, death, and Italy
Revisado: 02-14-21
What a joy to listen to this book. I know I would’ve lost so much by simply reading the print copy. I received so much emotion from Tembi’s voice and her flawless transitions from English to Italian were divine. This is more than a book about life after loss—it’s a book about what it mean to be loved, nourished, held, and home.

Historia
Finite games, like football or chess, have known players, fixed rules, and a clear endpoint. The winners and losers are easily identified. Infinite games, games with no finish line, like business or politics, or life itself, have players who come and go. The rules of an infinite game are changeable, while infinite games have no defined endpoint. There are no winners or losers - only ahead and behind. The question is, how do we play to succeed in the game we’re in? In this revelatory new audiobook, Simon Sinek offers a framework for leading with an infinite mindset.

A little repetitive, but continuously inspiring
Revisado: 01-04-20
I really enjoyed this book and the way Simon Sinek took something as big as infinity and broke it down into digestible little pieces. Most examples were business-related which was wonderful for me as an entrepreneur but I was disappointed that most of the characters—both with finite and infinite mindsets—were male. Would love to see further exploration of finite and infinite mindsets across gender and culture.

You can tell Kristen is a pro. I’m a podcaster of over two years and I can’t believe how much I learned from this book!! Stick around for the audio bonuses at the end.
