Twisty Read
Revisado: 02-02-25
The reader is exceptional. What an amazing job he does of pulling Oliver Stone off the pages and into your imagination. David Baldacci is my absolute favorite and never disappoints. If you love political thrillers with plenty of twists and turns this is your next book.

Victoria McQueen has an uncanny knack for finding things: a misplaced bracelet, a missing photograph, answers to unanswerable questions. When she rides her bicycle over the rickety old covered bridge in the woods near her house, she always emerges in the places she needs to be. Vic doesn't tell anyone about her unusual ability, because she knows no one will believe her. She has trouble understanding it herself.

Imagine a 1980s world of sumptuous hotel rooms, restaurants, New York City penthouses, and the powerful men who move easily between these pinnacles of luxury. They are music producers, rock stars, writers, and restaurateurs. They are household names like Billy Joel, Art Garfunkel, Eric Clapton, and Sting. And yet, each man has an entire aspect to his life that he doesn’t talk about publicly—his depression, his rocky marriage, his feelings of shame and failure, his private loss of faith. And now: The phone rings. Imagine the woman who has each of these men at her beck and call.

Superstar comedian and Hollywood box-office star Kevin Hart turns his immense talent to the written word by writing some words. Some of those words include: the, a, for, above, and even even. Put them together and you have the funniest, most heartfelt, and most inspirational memoir on survival, success, and the importance of believing in yourself since Old Yeller.

SPEND THE CREDIT!
Revisado: 12-17-21
Not only will this book have you laughing before you hit the end of chapter one, it’s full of SOLID life advice. I mean surprisingly GREAT life advice.
Kevin shares his real life experiences in a way that just connects with you. His love for his mom, brother and father is deep and unrelenting. Which is surprising because most would have either given up or carried bitterness. Instead he finds the humor and turns EVERY negative into a positive.
Usually I’m not a fan of an author reading their own book but honestly, this book wouldn’t have worked with anyone else reading it.
There’s definitely language and some “real” talk that for the sensitive ears will be a hurdle to overcome.
JUST SPEND THE CREDIT! I PROMISE, ITS WORTH IT!

Historia
With courage, grace, and powerful insight, bestselling author Kristin Hannah captures the epic panorama of World War II and illuminates an intimate part of history seldom seen: the women's war. The Nightingale tells the stories of two sisters, separated by years and experience, by ideals, passion and circumstance, each embarking on her own dangerous path toward survival, love, and freedom in German-occupied, war-torn France—a heartbreakingly beautiful novel that celebrates the resilience of the human spirit and the durability of women. It is a novel for everyone, a novel for a lifetime.

Decent Sequel to The Things We Cannot Say
Revisado: 10-27-21
Not sure why this isn’t listed as the sequel to “The Things We Cannot Say”. It should have been.
The story is well written and flows well. Plenty of edge of seat…what’s going to happen next moments. The narration was done well with the exception of the male voice. Never really could connect with his character as well as the female narration.
This should be heard though. The story is too important to be missed.

It's America in 1962. Slavery is legal once again. The few Jews who still survive hide under assumed names. In San Francisco, the I Ching is as common as the Yellow Pages. All because some twenty years earlier the United States lost a war - and is now occupied by Nazi Germany and Japan.
