Way better than first book

The first book was okay, it hooked me enough to get me to invest further in the series. But this dark fantasy really takes off in this book. The magic system feels more developed, main charicter has more growth, enemies seem better balanced, and the writer seems to have done an amazing job.

This is my favorite dark fantasy series. The following books just keep getting better. I enjoy the magic system and characters in this book. But this book does have some frustrating moments with main charicter decisions.

This series has become quite captivating. Despite an OP main charicter, growth and development is still entertaining. I'm excited to see where this story goes. Can be dark, but not explicit.

Overall great book, I felt like I could relate to the character. Amazing world and I love the rpg magic system. A must read, especially if you love lit RPG.

Freaking awesome book, it's dark btw

Aleron has another ringer! This book has an awesome magic system connected to the growth of deities. This new dangerous world filled with possibilities makes my mouth water, and the main character is perfect for this series. Be warned, this book is dark. Death, dismemberment, and gore is common. In such a dangerous world, this is only expected. I highly recommend this book along with The Land!

Great series, and a good start. Must read

This first book is not my favorite in the series, but is still a wonderful listen. I believe it is a must for anyone who enjoys Lit RPG or epic fantasy. The characters are great, it has an expansive system of magic and abilities, has a relatable main character, and golden references to pop and gaming culture.

My Favorite Book Of All Time

This book has such great diversity! Its magic system is amazing, world building is exciting and well thought out, social economical and governmental structures are awesome but not overwhelming. The diversity in characters is great and so many of them are well rounded and have great growth.

I would suggest this book and this series to anyone who loves magic, adventures, dungeon books, and even those who would normally prefer lit RPGS. Out of the hundreds of books I have, this one has been listened to and read to the point of memorization.

Great listen, good magic system, could be better

I have really enjoyed this series so far. It has a fun and continually developing magic system, fun new environments, and a variety of characters. The writer follows some common and occasionally frustrating tropes, but it's still good writing.
The reader does a great job and I am thoroughly impressed.

Andrew does a fantastic job at creating a complex world with many dynamic characters. The magic system is so rich and developed, its my most listened book! #1 Recommended author
