Historia
There was always something slightly dangerous about Joan. So, when she turns up at private investigator Henry Kimball’s office asking him to investigate her husband, he can’t help feeling ill at ease. Just the sight of her stirs up a chilling memory: He knew Joan in his previous life as a high school English teacher, when he was at the center of a tragedy.

Kept dosing off. Wanted to return but since I paid instead of using a credit, I was denied the return. Buyer beware. So boring.

Historia
Atlanta, 1974: It's Kate Murphy's first day on the job, and the Atlanta Police Department is seething after the murder of an officer. Before the day has barely begun, she already suspects she's not cut out to be a cop. Her male uniform is too big, she can't handle a gun, and she's rapidly learning that the APD is hardly a place that welcomes women. Worse still, in the ensuing manhunt she'll be partnered with Maggie Lawson, a cop with her own ax to grind.

Is Karin Slaughter an atheist? This book takes God's name more than Wolf on Wallstreet.... 🤢 ABSOLUTELY NO reason for that. NONE. Done reading your books...

Thank You , Grisham.
Revisado: 11-07-21
Grisham, I do hope you read this someday... We live in a dark world now. Today, there are SOOOO MANY authors, directors, actors, parents, leaders, preachers, on and on, that have allowed themselves to be given over to their evil sides without once thinking the impact their words and actions have on friends, family and strangers.
So many struggling to find something to believe in, desperate for some kind of hope in God and their future. We are created to worship something and if its not God, it will be anything else.money, jobs, family, pride... ..
Thank you, Grisham, for writing at least one book that reminds us of our first love and the ONLY one that can save us... God. Jesus Christ. It is good to be reminded just WHY we are here..to love God and to love others like HE intended.
Two weeks before reading this book, it was NO mistake that God had a friend show me a video of his own personal time spent with these indigenous peoples in Bolivia fifty years ago through New Tribes Missions. They developed a written language for them and then slowly helped put together bibles in their own languages. They had been shot at, gotten malaria and spent years of their lives loving on these peoples. One of them is now a chaplain for one of our local prisons that have become so overcrowded... They are God's special chosen.
Anyway, thank you for this book and for reminding me of why I am here.

Historia
More than 20 years have elapsed since the EMP and the country is still staggering. Americans that survived the trinity of the great die-off, the Second Civil War, and the regional Clan Wars are now suffering under the despotic whims of a usurper. Hundreds of thousands have been hunted down for their "patriotism". Millions more languish nationwide in labor and "re-education" camps. All the while, a new favored ruling class lives a life of hedonistic luxury.

Great Book....ehhhh Narrator
Revisado: 05-18-20
I really like this book, the story line was interesting to me but the narrator "almost" made me quit listening. I may be off in my analogy but there were times the narrator sounded like the voice of Frosty The Snowman cartoon from the 70's. The Story was enough to keep me interested. Overall I like the book and would recommend it. TGM
