The identity comes first: Evie Porter. Once she’s given a name and location by her mysterious boss, Mr. Smith, she learns everything there is to know about the town and the people in it. Then the mark: Ryan Sumner. The last piece of the puzzle is the job. Evie isn’t privy to Mr. Smith’s real identity, but she knows this job isn't like the others. Ryan has gotten under her skin, and she’s starting to envision a different sort of life for herself. But Evie can’t make any mistakes—especially after what happened last time.

Lots of layers to the mysterious gal from North Carolina... or was it Alabama?

Enjoyed this book with some obvious and not so obvious twist and turns. Elston does a great job making you feel like you are there and part of the adventure.

UGA friends that are creepy book readers - this book is really good, but MA Rated for a few crude scenes.
Book is based out of Atlanta and Athens and talks about campus in the early 90's.
It is really good and really intense.

Historia
Waverly Lyons has been caught in the middle of her parents’ divorce for as long as she can remember. This summer, the battle rages over who she’ll spend her vacation with, and when Waverly’s options are shot down, it’s bye-bye Fairbanks, Alaska, and hello Holden, Florida, to stay with her aunt. Coming from the tundra of the north, the beach culture isn’t exactly Waverly’s forte. The sun may just be her mortal enemy, and her vibe is decidedly not chill. To top it off? Her ability to swim is nonexistent.

Tight cast of characters, it is a bit YA, but you can certainly identify with the main character, Waverley.

Intertwined stories come alive
Revisado: 07-21-21
Khaled Hosseini is a wonderful story teller and he has a way to make the reader crave more.
This audible book is a little harder to listen to for 2 reasons- 1. The accents are authentic and take a few chapters to tune into. 2. The characters have multiple names (formal and personal), which is a bit different for my American mind to reconcile.
Overall fantastic book with really great roots that intertwine between seemingly unrelated characters.

good advice for struggling parents
Revisado: 11-11-18
This book is insightful and I will continue to go back and reference Amy's tips as my daughter gets older. Most of her advice is for children 3+, so this was good information for the future for me.

Historia
Our most commonly held formula for success is broken. Conventional wisdom holds that once we succeed, we’ll be happy; that once we get that great job, win that next promotion, lose those five pounds, happiness will follow. But the science reveals this formula to be backward: Happiness fuels success, not the other way around.

This was a great listen. I just bought the paperback so I could read and put in practice.
I love that the author is narrating and has adapted it to a talk versus just reading the book.
