I thoroughly enjoyed the story, how the characters were developed and how the whole story evolved; a very pleasant listening experience.

As real as it can get
Revisado: 11-17-22
I didn’t think I’d be interested in her own story but I gave it a go because I love listening to AP read her stories. There were so many aspects that were relatable. I have family and friends who are going/went through the same struggles and experiences as AP did and hearing her side gives me a better understanding of the struggles of these people I love and hopefully, I’ll be a more sensitive, caring and better ally to them because of this. Now on to the next AP story 🏃🏻♀️

Being a billionaire heiress isn’t all it’s cracked up to be. In fact, it sucks. Determined to live a quiet life, Kat Tanner changed her identity years ago and eschewed her family’s legacy. But now, Kat’s silver spoon past has finally caught up with her, and so have her youthful mistakes. To avoid imminent disaster, she must marry immediately; it is essential that the person she chooses have no romantic feelings for her whatsoever and be completely trustworthy. Fortunately, she knows exactly who to ask. Dan O’Malley checks all the boxes.

Too much profanity
Revisado: 04-27-21
I couldn’t finish this book! I tried but I just can’t take the male character’s voice/inflection and the profane words that peppered his sentences. It was just too much for me. I liked best the book on Janie and Quinn.

Historia
Alice Pendelbury believes everything in her life is pretty much in order - from her good friends to her burgeoning career. But even Alice has to admit it’s been an odd week. Not only has her belligerent neighbor, Mr. Daldry, suddenly become a surprisingly agreeable confidant, but he’s encouraging her to take seriously the fortune-teller who told her that only by traveling to Turkey can Alice meet the most important person in her life. What’s more, the peculiarly insistent Mr. Daldry has even agreed to finance Alice’s trip - one that against all reason seems to be predestined.

Sing-song

I was quite annoyed at the sing-song pattern of the narrator. It was much better when she read the characters’ lines than when she was narrating.

Historia
Thirty-two-year-old Jess Abbot has lost everything: her job, her apartment, and - most heart-wrenching - her eight-year-old son, Chance, to a tragic accident. Haunted by memories and grief, Jess packs what’s left and heads for the small mountain town of Pine Lake, where she takes a position as caregiver to an eccentric old woman. A rumored clairvoyant, Lucy is strange but welcoming and immediately intuits Jess as a “loose end” in need of closure. But Jess isn’t the only guest in Lucy’s large Victorian home.
