Insightful and so well written
Revisado: 01-18-24
So detailed and compelling. There are many things about the lead up to the war on the Japanese side that I never knew that this book brings to light.

Great read - one of my favorite yet
Revisado: 06-20-23
The author Mark Dawson has really dialed it in with his characters in recent years. He’s always done a good job with John Milton but he’s seemed to be making a concerted effort to show the humanity of other characters, especially those still serving in Milton’s old organization.

Historia
Back when Harry Bosch was just a rookie homicide detective, he had an inspiring mentor who taught him to take the work personally and light the fire of relentlessness for every case. Now that mentor, John Jack Thompson, is dead, but after his funeral his widow hands Bosch a murder book that Thompson took with him when he left the LAPD 20 years before - the unsolved killing of a troubled young man in an alley used for drug deals.

Great performance
Revisado: 12-03-19
I’ve listened to every Harry Bosch book. I wasn’t a huge fan of the switch to Titus Welliver at the beginning but he’s really found his voice. And Christine Lakin has been a wonderful addition. Very enjoyable listen.
