Yikes 😬 issues…

I own over 1200 audible books and this is one of the very rare ones I actually returned. Both H/h are pretty cringe. And I’ve read some awful ones without actually stopping or suuupre rarely returning. Female main is so.. just so deeply a door mat. It got painful. And the “hero” 🤨good gravy. So very unheroic. Makes it seem like he’ll eventually have a sorta heart underneath but.. I guess if you’re looking for something like a path for the puzzle pieces of dysfunction to turn into a fantastical leaning tower of codependent dysfunction in the end this could be.. maybe for you? I I just couldn’t take any more of that family and the illogic of the treatment happening. Nor could I imagine a woman so seemingly smart and hardworking taking the things she was.

Great characters and interesting story!

I love the weaving back and forth in time and how everything from the past plays a role in the present as well as how they choose to continue into the future. There’s so much to learn about how we should choose to live and learn from our own past. Beautiful and poignant!

A forever repeat!

I’m reading through this series again and decided it’s important to support really awesome stories. I mean once you get to the point you can’t remember, even to estimate, how many times you’ve read (or listened to) a series, it just makes sense to pass that recommendation on! I absolutely love Patricia Briggs and this is one of the best series’ ever. I own over a thousand audiobooks and I still can’t remember how many times I’ve re-listened to this one.

Surprising

Loved these characters! Almost didn’t get the book cause the description was a biiit basic. Glad I went for it since what I wanted was some fun Christmassy cheer. The dirty talk was maybe a little overdone. Hard to tell if that was narration or script 🤷‍♀️. Definitely a fun read!

When I see that a Mercy Thompson book is on the way, it’s actually hard to pace myself with re-listening to the entire series so I’m getting close to the end at the right time for the release! And then it comes out and no matter how busy I am it’s done in a flash and I’ve got to wait again 😙 Still I anticipate the next and appreciate what there is. I love how the characters grow and change and develop in different types of relationships. It’s always a pleasure to have characters I can count on loving too! Thank you Patricia Briggs! And of course I’ve also never been disappointed by Lorelei King!

Love this series!

I’m a huge fan of this series so I check for new ones in the story often. This was a prequel but it’s also one of my favorite characters so it was a no brainer to purchase as soon as I could. Zero regrets! I love the fantastical heroes with incredible powers. It’s even better when their greatest power is extraordinary strength of character. I think this author exemplifies that. Plus the reader is absolutely awesome. He’s one I’d search just to find the ones he’s read.

Fun, funny, quirky

I like the story so far and the narrator isn’t bad.., I’m just getting annoyed with every t being pronounced so formally. Her voice is great and the emotions are right. Otherwise still good and funny. Though also missing any Southern accents..

Male voice...cringe

I’m sorry but why on earth would a performer give an alpha male dragon a Yoda voice?? Croak and all! Totally took me out of the otherwise good shot story.

Real, sweet, and interesting

This is one of the very few regency romances worth repeating. I’ve literally read hundreds of books just in the romance genre alone and I’m on my third read for this one. Maybe it’s the issue of a main character being on the autism spectrum but it brings a new level to the communication between characters. Jennifer Ashley is a great writer too. Her characters are distinct from each other and it’s never hard to get into her books. Angela Dawe does a great job with story and voices too. I tend to change it up between genres but for a regency this is an awesome one.

Not the end

I’ve been super eager for this book and it was as great as the first two! Kel Kade is one of my newer favorites up there with early Terry Goodkind, Robert Jordan (storyline wise, I like Kel Kade writing better) and Ann McCaffrey. Of course I thought this was going to be the third in a trilogy so in a way I was annoyed to not get the end of the story but I love it enough to wait... even years! for more to come.
