Historia
William Bernstein's commonsense approach to portfolio construction has served investors well during the past turbulent decade - and it's what made The Four Pillars of Investing an instant classic when it was first published nearly a decade ago. This down-to-earth book lays out in easy-to-understand prose the four essential topics that every investor must master: the relationship of risk and reward, the history of the market, the psychology of the investor and the market, and the folly of taking financial advice from investment salespeople.

Strong Breadth
Revisado: 04-29-25
Strong breadth in this book. You get better if you go through it. But there won’t be anything ground breaking if you are a hedge fund person.

Strong material
Revisado: 03-03-25
Strong material that can be used as a reference if one were to engage in any of these small business acquisitions. I want to become an expert on this so it was nice to contrast vs Main Street millionaire. It was also nice to look under the hood and understand why these acquisitions deals can become very complex. This book has stronger material when it comes to gathering funds. It also had more breadth when it comes to analyzing the economics of a deal. I still think Main Street millionaire is better because Codie Sanchez is a much stronger writer than these guys.

That’s why Codie Sanchez carved a new, smarter path to total freedom. In Main Street Millionaire, she reveals the method she teaches her community of seven-figure investors for building wealth by creating a portfolio of boring businesses. That’s right—the money is not in flashy startups or in the corner office.

Historia
Roger Lowenstein, the bestselling author of Buffett, captures Long-Term's roller-coaster ride in gripping detail. Drawing on confidential internal memos and interviews with dozens of key players, Lowenstein crafts a story that reads like a first-rate thriller from beginning to end. He explains not just how the fund made and lost its money, but what it was about the personalities of Long-Term's partners, the arrogance of their mathematical certainties, and the late-nineties culture of Wall Street that made it all possible.
