This was a good short, general way of studying. The author kept it interesting enough, and provided examples which kept the book moving. However, in 2022 the topics of night flying and remote ID were not covered and these were several questions on the test. This book is great as a general study, but I would use other sources as my primary means of studying for the test. I still recommend this book to supplement and learn for your Part 107 test.

Concise book that presents good advice on how to pursue self-learning. As a self-learner, I found several methods mentioned that I had either forgotten or had not heard of and I’m eager to start using them. Well written and the narrator did a fine job too.

Listening to the stories of old time baseball told by the actual players is priceless. Many books can write about anecdotes and stories but actually hearing them from the players who played the game is awesome. You can hear the love of the game, not the money, as they fondly recall those days.

I was expecting to listen to tales of early baseball but was instead treated to lessons on how baseball came about. Things I’ve taken for granted as a lifelong baseball fan we’re shown to me how they came about. If you truly want to know how the game we watch today came to be, listen to this selection. I encourage everyone who calls them self a true baseball fan to learn how our game came to be. The speaker is knowledgeable and easy to listen to.

I wouldn’t have read this book except that my wife wanted to see the movie and I didn’t want to rely on a movie to tell me the story. I haven’t seen the movie and don’t want to now. There’s no way a movie could capture all that this book was. How could one possibly choose what to cut out as it was all great and part of the whole story. The reader was just brilliant! She had each character with a different voice and without knowing sometimes, just by her character voice, I knew what character was speaking. What a fantastic voice actress and reader. I’m inclined to actually look specifically for books she has read. This is far from the genre of books I read/listen but I can see myself listening to this all over again sometime in the future. Well done!

The stories were great but they end suddenly after the battle. I made an investment in these guys’ stories and I would like to know what happened with their lives afterward. Still a very good book.

I enjoy listening to Brian Kenny on the MLB Network and love the inside numbers he provides. This book illustrates how the old school of thought by MLB clubs and “expert” sportswriters is and was so obviously flawed. He goes into numbers and situations that make sense and why baseball grinds slowly and reluctantly toward common sense. Ironically he predicts in this 2016 book that the Astros would be 2017 World Series winners. If that doesn’t build the credibility of this book, nothing will. I really liked the audio version and that he is the reader so he knows when and how he wants things relayed to the listener. I highly recommend.
