A Little Obvious for Avid Mystery Readers

The author did a great job of bringing you to the setting. it is a fun read, and would be good if adapted to film.
My problem is, I hate coming to conclusions long before the character does, and that happened many times in this book. The hints were a bit too obvious and the ending too predictable.

The writers, rude cynicism was hard to get over at first. The first 1/3 of the book could have been summarized in three words: "I Hate India."
The word "fart" is overused, and it just felt like she had a lot of complaining to do. It was hard to keep interested for a while. That said, once the narrative shifted, and you could tell she was learning from the culture and the people close to her, it became much more interesting.
I really appreciated hearing what living inIndia is really like. The romantic eat pray love version of India is just a small part of it.

Overall, I'd say the book was fine.
