Historia
Nicholas “Coal” Claus used to love Christmas. Until his father, the reigning Santa, turned the holiday into a PR façade. Coal will do anything to escape the spectacle, including getting tangled in a drunken, supremely hot make-out session with a beautiful man behind a seedy bar one night. But the heir to Christmas is soon commanded to do his duty: he will marry his best friend, Iris, the Easter Princess and his brother’s not-so-secret crush. A situation that has disaster written all over it. Things go from bad to worse when a rival arrives to challenge Coal for the princess’s hand.

This book was like a hallmark movie. Very cute. Perfect Christmas read. The narrator was new to me but did a great job. Looking forward to the next one

Historia
Tonight I meet my mate. I don’t know anything about him, including his name. According to fox shifter tradition, my parents chose him for me. For the next month we’ll be living together in a remote cabin. That’s how fox shifters form a bond. We burrow with our intended for a full month of winter. My mothers say my new mate is kind, and he won’t mind that I don’t look like other omegas. But I’m nervous. What if he’s disappointed? Or even worse, what if he’s someone I could never bring myself to love?

If you're looking for something short and sweet with a fair amount of steam this one's for you. The fact that they're fox shifters doesn't hurt either. Foxes are adorable. Lance West does a wonderful job at bringing the story to life and while the story is relatively short at just over 4 hours it doesn't feel like its missing anything.

Historia
After years managing a haunted hotel and estate, I thought things were good. Sure, the ghosts can be a handful—nosy, opinionated, interfering—but they’re also friendly and fun. We have a system. Everything was under control. Cue hysterical laughter. But after a minor blip with a demon in the basement and a vortex to the spirit world, the ghosts swear they have no more secrets. The danger is gone, and we’ve done everything we can to make the vortex safe. It should be fine. Nothing’s come through it for 50 years. It’s never that easy at Mannix Estate.

I'm really loving this series so far. I was excited for this book and it did not disappoint. I do kind of wish there was a little more slow burn between the two of them leading up to the relationship but that's really just a personal preference. I also didn't love the cliff hanger but again that's a personal preference. Mostly because I am really impatient and want the next book(s) to be out already. I will say that the cliff hanger is just a set up for the next book. The main issues in this book are fully resolved by the end.
I hope this series goes on for a long time. I love everything about it especially the ghosts.

Historia
I’m rather used to the crazy cases, because let’s face it, most cops can handle the run-of-the-mill with their eyes closed. I’m only called in when the situation is weird or they need to solve the case fast. This case is a little of both. Someone’s attacking women as they get off of work, hitting them in the back of the head. What started as a case of battery has steadily built up to homicide. With three murders, six victims, and no leads, the Clarksville PD is desperate to catch the assailant. But there’s no real leads for us to follow, either....

A little short
Revisado: 08-03-22
I should preface this by saying this is my first book by this author. So I have started the series on book 3. It is also my first time hearing Aaron Ross narrate. I was a little hesitant at first because a bad narrator can ruin a good book and I’ve had issues with new to me narration in the past. I had nothing to worry about Aaron’s narration was fantastic. He absolutely brought the story to life, giving each character their own distinct voice and switching between them seamlessly.
As far as the story goes, it was okay. My biggest issue was it felt a little short. The main characters kept saying they would take it slow and moments later were jumping each other in a cave.
I’m not a huge fan of insta love so I would have preferred there be some semblance of a connection.
I liked Embry (I’m a sucker for a good hurt/comfort) and would have loved to see him grow into himself and become more confident with the help of his mate. What I got was “don’t worry, you’re my mate. I’ll protect you” with no real regard for who Embry is.
The lack of any kind of connection outside of mate bond neither of them had a say in made it hard for me to root for them as a couple. I certainly didn’t believe the declaration of love in any way.
I also didn’t love that we never get to see the babies born. This is an mpreg novel so there’s a bit of an expectation that the reader will witness the birth or at the very least get the perspective of the new parents as they meet their baby(s). Especially since the pregnancy is only three months long.
That said, I did like the story and felt there was enough action to keep me interested. In the end, I want to know if what’s going to happen next so I’ll be picking up the next book in the series.

Balthazar knows he shouldn’t feel guilty for wanting what his friend has: a One and child. He adores their little boy and is happy to be an honorary uncle, but he wants his own. Amherst Coven has been blessed with fated mates recently, and Balthazar yearns to be the next to find his match. Grant is a warlock without powers, and he was okay with that. He’d come to terms with being broken decades ago. That didn’t mean he wanted to move to a coven after spending his entire life living amongst humans. But, to make his mother happy, he’d do just that.

A lot of potential
Revisado: 07-09-22
Overall, I thought the story was good. I liked the characters and the story was interesting enough to keep my attention. I have ADHD and if I get bored I tend to quickly lose focus. That was not a problem here. That said. By the end I was disappointed that nothing really happened. I kept thinking things were building only to get to the end and find out I was wrong.
All of the potential conflict and mystery I found myself getting invested in throughout the story didn’t really go anywhere. For example, the mysteriously locked powers, mentions of issues with a disgruntled pack, or all the camera issues. I kept waiting for a conspiracy I didn’t see coming or an action sequence that never really came.
I do like the world the author has built and it is possible that some of the issues I felt were unaddressed will be addressed in the next book so I’m going to give it a shot.

It’d be better without one of the mcs
Revisado: 01-12-22
Greg Boudreaux is a fantastic narrator. He brought the book to life perfectly.
I liked the story overall. I also liked the not ghost character. I’ve read a fair amount of paranormal romance and it’s nice to get something a little different once in a while.
The story kept me interested and the mystery kept me guessing. I thought the character development and world building was great.
Where it goes wrong for me is Hudson. I get he’s the gruff cop type who pushes people away to protect them but there was absolutely nothing I could see that would make Wes want to keep coming back.
He was rude, abrasive, and sometimes just plain mean.
I understand Wes is supposed to be Demi and therefore isn’t attracted to a lot of people but if it was between Hudson and being alone for eternity I’d just stay single.
As a character Hudson was fine. I didn’t like him but I understood him.
As a love interest he was terrible.
Wes kept trying and Hudson just kept pushing him away and then sometimes even going so far as to gaslight him for it. Then in the end we’re just supposed to forget he was an utter [redacted] because he changed his mind?
He spent 90% of the book pushing Wes away and then just randomly decides he actually does like Wes after all and all is forgiven?
Maybe it’s wishful thinking but I’m kind of hoping book 2 is Wes signing up for a dating app to get over his breakup with Hudson who decided he wanted to move to Australia or something and just disappeared.

Not for me
Revisado: 11-10-21
I don’t actually have triggers. Nothing that will cause me great mental distress but there are things that I don’t like reading. This book is one of those things.
The story is about a boy whose father was a pedophile and who shared him with other men. Had there been only brief mentions of this I probably would have finished the book but it’s a constant in the book. It’s the story’s main plot point.
Add to that the premise of a rich doctor who specifically encouraged and pushed troubled children to become sociopaths and the sexual assault victim who wants his partner to “hurt him” and “make him take it” and I just couldn’t.
The story is dark. It doesn’t pretend to be otherwise but I personally don’t like to spend 7+ hours hearing about pedophiles. If that won’t bug you then you will probably like the story.

Gabe thinks he’ll never have a bond of his own. He’s bond-cut, which means his scent gland is so scarred, he can’t bond to anyone - not even his best friend, Marcus, who he’s been in love with for six years. Gabe spends every waking moment with Marcus. They co-own a tattoo parlor and share an apartment. It was Gabe who gave Marcus the vibrant bird tattoos all over his body. But Gabe never plans to tell Marcus about his feelings. Marcus deserves a bond. Marcus may be huge, even for an alpha, but everyone knows he’s a marshmallow at heart.

Fluff
Revisado: 11-04-21
The thing I like most about Amy’s stories is that even when there’s angst it’s balanced out with so much fluff. I always leave her stories smiling and this one is no different.
Lance did a great job of bringing the characters to life.
