Historia
Helen Kent never dares to step outside her comfort zone. She lives a lonely, mundane life in the city, grinding through her uninspiring marketing job. That is, until a spontaneous online purchase brings her to the little bay town of Oban, Scotland, where a 500-year-old cottage full of secrets and stories awaits her. After Helen unearths the local legend of a 16th-century witch, she discovers a set of mysterious journals in the cottage’s library. Thrust into a world of magic she doesn’t understand, she soon realizes there are both light and dark forces at work beyond her control.

An entertaining read
Revisado: 04-09-24
I greatly enjoyed this creative tale of good vs. evil, which is set in Scotland and spans centuries. The romantic sub-plot made it even better! Highly recommend for fans of paranormal fiction, romance, and/or fantasy books.

Justin has a curse, and thanks to a Reddit thread, it's now all over the internet. Every woman he dates goes on to find their soul mate the second they break up. When a woman slides into his DMs with the same problem, they come up with a plan: They'll date each other and break up. Their curses will cancel each other’s out, and they’ll both go on to find the love of their lives. It’s a bonkers idea… and it just might work.

Abby Jimenez writes the best men 😍

Humor, characters with traumas, and a cinnamon roll hero—what’s not to love? Another great book by this author, with fun tie-ins to the first two books in the series. I absolutely loved it.

All of her stories are great, and this short one about an improbable meet-cute is no exception! Witty banter, cinnamon-roll hero, emotional backstories, and a happy ending. What more can you ask for?

An action-packed must-read
Revisado: 05-23-23
This is the second book in the Davia Glenn series, and I loved it as much as the first! Davia is a bada$$ operative who inherits a ton of money & feels torn between two worlds. She misses being on dangerous missions with her old team, which includes her hunky new boyfriend. But she’s also drawn to the emotional comfort offered by a British billionaire relentlessly pursuing her. When her two worlds collide, she can’t help but get involved, even though the fashion show must go on.
This story had it all for me. Touches of romance, with two gorgeous men competing for Davia’s heart, and plenty of suspense and action, with the mystery of a murder resulting in a hostage situation. I especially enjoyed the San Diego setting, from the fictional neighborhood of Rancho Suprema (a.k.a. Rancho Santa Fe) to the very real areas of Balboa Park, La Jolla, downtown, and the Coronado Bridge. It felt like an amazing tour packed with action!
This series is both expertly written and highly entertaining. Stacey Lind also does a great job with the narration. I can’t wait for book 3 to release soon! Highly recommend.

It’s the most wonderful time of the year...but not for Maelyn Jones. She’s living with her parents, hates her going-nowhere job, and has just made a romantic error of epic proportions. But perhaps worst of all, this is the last Christmas Mae will be at her favorite place in the world - the snowy Utah cabin where she and her family have spent every holiday since she was born, along with two other beloved families.

I loved this book (audible version) and found it very inspiring. While not quite a self-help book, or at least I'm not sure if that's the intention, I got some helpful insights from it for my own life, as well as the entertainment value of a greatly told story.
