For the main character to be from Juilliard, and not to have the more developed sense of musical theory environment, that would be advantageous to this expertise would at least close the window of how this character is unchallenged in anything and everything he does. If not for the NSW I would think this was written for young teens.

A shame since I love all of Simon Archers other books

Protagonist disconnected

There was just something missing in how the guy in our world had the personality that showed in the fantasy world. Would have also appreciated mains expertise/profession exhibited itself, instead you get a conflicting idea of a geologist/archeologist (author mixes it up a little) and a pop culture gamer guy, kinda like a vegan who works at a meat packing plant.

Multiple problem with this listen, female voice acting was great but the male acting was flat and didn’t know how to read commas.
For the story, try having a plot with sex throne in. Don’t try and build a plot around sex. Sex can be a key block in the plot but don’t build everything around it so that the plot seam happenstance.
Lastly, Main Character is an emotional Mary Sue. Ideal Beta male who’s only an Alpha when it’s convenient. And why did it sound like he started adventuring to find monster girls and then it evolves into he’s at the end of his adventures career and he’s benefits from this full sexual 15 year experience.

All thow I’ve enjoyed Stephanie Savannah’s work before, I’m not a fan of changing narrators so far into a series. It may have taken longer for WW 5 to make it onto Andrea Parsneau’s calendar but worth it.

I LOVE this series. Drew, you are an amazing author who’s only problem I see is that I am regularly pulled from your world with the thoughts of how do you what you do. If ever I make my bones and travel the world I will be sending you an invitation for lunch so I may meet the mind behind my favorite PNCPA.

Lazy

First, I liked the book. The problem comes with the lazy writing. After a week of training and you haven’t figured out how to discreetly talk with the voice in your head? Why would you talk about sensitive material once you get in a taxi cab? (Spoiler) vending machines can’t rocket things out due to the mechanics (although props for the Maximum Overdrive callback), why would you not think the robot controlled by a server would be a threat and why does an office sanitation robot have a litter picking up tool like it’s the park? Why would the computer programmer not take advantage of route access to servers in a building?

I expect better from Eric. Numbers over quantity does not make your fan base happy.

Good but

I love Simon Archer’s books but the second one in this series had bits that stood out negatively. People in such a leadership position do not clean their own room. Not that their incapable or unwilling but because those who serve could take it as an insult, not to mention if they are as loved by their people as written then the castle staff would reflect that.
A leader is constantly full of “What Ifs” especially one who leads men and women into danger. Them taking that into account is what increases chance of success. For a Vampire who’s been around for centuries to not only have this sudden fear AND not be comfortable with idea of death beaks the characters believability. And before it’s mentioned this does not meet that the leader is accepting of the ideas but they would be accepting of the ideas.
There were a few more but you get the point. Still a good story just had bits that needed work.
