Too many ads-ruined
Revisado: 11-17-23
Great actors & great story. I'm afraid the cost of the greatness was so many ads the whole thing was ruined. Too bad.

Characters were out of sorts
Revisado: 10-24-15
I have always enjoyed the interactions between the various members of department Q and their "friends ". This book isolated Carl and Asad from everyone else most of the time. I missed the interplay between them all. Also the book ended with a few unresolved story lines that felt like he just forgot about them, rather than a hook for the next book.

Enjoyed the story, hated the ending
Revisado: 04-14-15
The story was lite and fun, loads of characters you've encountered in your own life. There were a few unsavory characters but the story allowed you to laugh at them without guilt. I hated the ending due to its aburptness.

Light listening, predictable, not my fav narrator
Revisado: 03-31-15
My biggest problem was with the narrator; she had a odd affectation in the beginning. I'm not sure if I got used to it, or she improved as there was a little more meat in the story. The story itself wasn't bad, predictable but enjoyable.

Great book and narration.
Revisado: 06-06-12
Would you consider the audio edition of A Voice in the Wind to be better than the print version?
I enjoyed the audio edition because it allowed me to create a picture in my mind without having to distract from the picture by having to focus on the written word. The narrator did not draw attention to himself or distract me from the story.
What did you like best about this story?
I really enjoyed the way Francine Rivers developed the characters and setting so you could believe the characters actually worshiped idols. I learned Roman mythology growing up but it seemed too ridiculous to think people actually worshiped and believed those stories but Rivers made it seem completely natural. There was no mocking of their beliefs but at the same time she showed the futility of it. I felt like I was given a true historical vision.
Which character – as performed by Richard Ferrone – was your favorite?
The heroine, Hadassa, was my favorite. While she never wavered in her personal belief system she struggled greatly in how she lived it out.
Was there a moment in the book that particularly moved you?
The death of one of Hadassa's masters was very moving.
Any additional comments?
I love long books and this one did not dissapoint; the world of ancient Rome, the gladiators, and the rich was very intriguing.
