Historia
In April 1970, during the glory days of the Apollo space program, NASA sent Navy Captain Jim Lovell and two other astronauts on America's fifth mission to the moon. Only 55 hours into the flight of Apollo 13, disaster struck: a mysterious explosion rocked the ship, and soon its oxygen and power began draining away. Written with all the color and drama of the best fiction, Apollo 13 (previously published as Lost Moon) tells the full story of the moon shot that almost ended in catastrophe.

Greatest technological team effort ever! Courage and knowledge wins over extreme adversity!
Revisado: 08-16-24
I love the book, but I was disappointed that the reentry phase of the flight was not adequately covered. Questions such as what was it like is the command module went into blackout and started piercing the atmosphere? Were there conversations between the astronauts? When was the moment that they realized that the heat shield heldand they were going to make it? What was that moment like? How did they feel when they saw the shoots open? A description of the moment when they heard the first radio calls after blackout would’ve been nice. And the host of other questions that most people who are space fanatics would’ve enjoyed.

Historia
On June 6, 1944, General Dwight Eisenhower addressed the thousands of American troops preparing to invade Normandy, exhorting them to embrace the “Great Crusade” they faced. Then, in a fleeting moment alone, he drafted a resignation letter in case the invasion failed. In The Light of Battle, Michel Paradis, acclaimed author of Last Mission to Tokyo, paints a vivid portrait of Dwight Eisenhower as he learns to navigate the crosscurrents of diplomacy, politics, strategy, family, and fame with the fate of the free world hanging in the balance.

Historia
For decades we've been told that positive thinking is the key to a happy, rich life. "F*ck positivity," Mark Manson says. "Let's be honest, shit is f*cked, and we have to live with it." In his wildly popular Internet blog, Manson doesn't sugarcoat or equivocate. He tells it like it is - a dose of raw, refreshing, honest truth that is sorely lacking today. The Subtle Art of Not Giving a F*ck is his antidote to the coddling, let's-all-feel-good mind-set that has infected modern society and spoiled a generation, rewarding them with gold medals just for showing up.

Historia
It's hard to imagine our world without its stars and celebrity geniuses—they become a part of our culture and history, seeming permanent and preordained. But as Cass Sunstein shows in this startling book, that is far from the case. Focusing on both famous and forgotten (or simply overlooked) artists and luminaries in music, literature, business, science, politics, and other fields, he explores why some individuals become famous and others don't, and offers a new understanding of the role of greatness, luck, and contingency in the achievement of fame.

This book contained a few interesting stories, but for the most part was a pedantic mishmash of what if scenarios taken into their ridiculous extreme.

Kitty Harris has it all: cosily coupled up with boyfriend Archie, she’s putting in the hours at an ad agency to land her dream job. I thought the story and characters were unrealistic, boring and uninspiring. The dialogue was cheesy and hackneyed. The plot was as predictable as a sunrise. Sorry, not my cup of tea.

Revisado: 03-29-24
This is an incredible visceral account, firsthand of what it was like to be a victim of the holocaust nightmare. Everyone should read it, experience it, and dwell upon it, so that our resolve to be instilled in every human that this should never occur in any way, shape or form ever again anywhere.
