Why have different gender voice actors if you don't use them?

Why have Suzie on board if she is not voicing many of Milize lines, instead having Stephen force himself to make a very unconvincing female voice? Is this just the voice director being lazy? instead of partitioning each character's lines for the appropriate actor, they just have a male or female actor do the entire chapter, including opposite gender dialogue?

It's very strange how each character have three different voices depending on which actor is voicing which chapter. This feels liks the voice director completely missed the entire point of having different actors on an audiobook.

Suzie's performance is superb as always but the overall performance is dragged down by the aforementioned choices.

You have two male voice actors and a female voice actor. Yet the director makes the male and female actors speak lines of the opposite gender when they literaally have the actors there.

Lerche was voiced like twice in the entire book with a female voice. I feel like making men strain their vocal chords to mimic women can sound very rigid and strange and really takes away from the delivery.

I think Milize, Lerche, Anju etc. lines should always be delivered by Suzie, Shin, Raiden, etc. should always be delivered by the others. It makes no sense to have male and female actors when seemingly all they do is swap who narrates which chapter instead of VOICING THEIR GENDERS.

This author ends the book with the most contrived deaths

I could tolerate the long winded and self indulgent monologues which personify this series, but I cannot tolerate the author just wantonly killing people off in the most nonsensical and contrived ways to generate a reaction from us.

I know her intent is for me to be mad at the murderer, but it's one of those deaths where it's so forced that you are ripped out of the story and experience and you hate the author itself.

I wouldn't recommend this to anyone, it's again, self indulgent, with terrible smut, and basically the two main characters having the exact same conversation over and over again for the entire book topped off with said contrived death.

I don't respect authors that can't seem to help them but write depression porn. This is a rare situation where I genuinely feel like my time was completely wasted and I regret picking up this series.

Excellent story, but the reading really brought it to life! The first chapter was weird with some crazy intonations but the actress calmed down subsequently. She really lent a voice to every character in the story. Jerry, Danny, Zoe, Quinn, Honor, Emett and Sydney all sound like comletely distinct people. Amazing, I laughed out loud at some parts.

Characters are central to this story and it is absolutely great, everyone are likeable.

The medical side of things are not left either, I actually learned a lot of stuff and gained even more respecr for medical professionals.

Story also didn't drag on, it ended at the perfect time. Every chapter was filled with stuff happening and I never felt bored.

Compared ro Love's Melody Lost where the actress just yeeted the whole story in a monotone at 500 miles an hour this is night and day!

Major props.

I enjoyed the story, but the performance sounded flat and monotone, too fast and teleprompter like to generate any meaningful inflection, and the emotions were entirely skipped over.

Read the book, don't listen.
