Historia
A late bloomer who came to her career later in life, humorist Wendi Aarons shares the joys, stumbles, and outfit mishaps she’s experienced on her road to no longer giving a f***. It’s a journey from chunky heels and bad choices from the juniors department to the panache of a comfortable linen tunic (metaphorically, but also literally), enjoying her second act and unapologetically chasing her dreams.

Fun and funny for women on their 40s, 50s
Revisado: 12-05-24
This was like listening to your girlfriend pour her heart out about life and aging as a woman. I laughed with her and found myself agreeing so many times.

I wanted to love it
Revisado: 11-15-22
I was excited about this book since it released. It took me a while to get to it due to my TBR list being so long.
I really wanted to love it. It fell short for me though. In the beginning I was intrigued with the story when they spoke of Noemi coming from a well to do family but still wanting to go to school. The mentions of herbalism, mycology, and the town curandera got me excited. But the story didn’t develop well for me and fell flat in areas where I expected more.
The narrator was not great, in my opinion. This also made it difficult to enjoy the book. I wanted to stop multiple times but I don’t like to leave books unfinished so I pushed through.
Overall, I sadly will not be recommending this one.

What’s in a name? A lot. The name Tinaca, for example, has been passed down in the Jones family for generations of women. In fact, the Joneses name a Tinaca every other generation, to let the name breathe a little. To let each Tinaca shine. And shine is exactly what Tinaca Jones intends to do.

Entertaining and enjoyable
Revisado: 01-22-20
This is a fun story. I enjoyed Retta’s portrayal of the sassy Tinaca Jones. She made me laugh out loud a few times! If you don’t mind the language, give it a listen.
