Katie isn’t a narrator but the book wouldn’t have felt as real if it was read by anyone else. Loved it.

Historia
After Tova Sullivan’s husband died, she began working the night shift at the Sowell Bay Aquarium, mopping floors and tidying up. Keeping busy has always helped her cope, which she’s been doing since her eighteen-year-old son, Erik, mysteriously vanished on a boat in Puget Sound over thirty years ago. Tova becomes acquainted with curmudgeonly Marcellus, a giant Pacific octopus living at the aquarium. Marcellus knows more than anyone can imagine but wouldn’t dream of lifting one of his eight arms for his human captors—until he forms a remarkable friendship with Tova.

Beautiful story

I’ve benefited many times from the reviews posted by other listeners and although it’s not my usual listen it was the reviews that convinced me. This is a wonderful story and well narrated. I love that part of the country an highly recommend this book if it remotely sounds interesting.

A top nuclear scientist goes mad and takes an innocent family hostage at gunpoint, killing one and causing a massive standoff. A plume of radiation above New York City leads to a warehouse where, it seems, a powerful nuclear bomb was assembled just hours before. Sifting through the evidence, authorities determine that the unthinkable is about to happen: in ten days, a major American city will be vaporized by a terrorist attack.

Not a book about fitness, but that’s why I loved it!
Revisado: 05-30-23
Second time listening to it and I enjoyed it just as much as the first. It doesn’t give you a fitness routine or be your personal trainer but he does get across a good mix of nutrition and general health info while discussing all that is wrong with the current environment of quick fix diet and fitness advertising. It’s sad we’ve created a whole industry to fix our health problems caused by our own crappy lifestyle. An interesting listen that got me motivated to get active again.

Historia
Eight-year-old orphan Beth Harmon is quiet, sullen, and by all appearances unremarkable. That is, until she plays her first game of chess. Her senses grow sharper, her thinking clearer, and for the first time in her life she feels herself fully in control. By the age of 16, she's competing for the US Open championship. But as Beth hones her skills on the professional circuit, the stakes get higher, her isolation grows more frightening, and the thought of escape becomes all the more tempting.

Great story! Better than the Netflix series
Revisado: 02-28-23
Really enjoyed the story and was caught up in the games. The story does a great job of making the game of chess captivating for non chess players and combining it Beth’s upbringing as an orphan and her reliance on the game of chess made for an interesting read. Highly recommended. The only drawback was that the narrator couldn’t do male voices that well.

Historia
Meet Ove. He’s a curmudgeon—the kind of man who points at people he dislikes as if they were burglars caught outside his bedroom window. He has staunch principles, strict routines, and a short fuse. But behind the cranky exterior there is a story and a sadness. So when one November morning a chatty young couple with two chatty young daughters move in next door and accidentally flatten Ove’s mailbox, it is the lead-in to a comical and heartwarming tale of unkempt cats, unexpected friendship, and the ancient art of backing up a U-Haul.
