Historia
Parrish Partridge’s true facts: There’s nothing hotter than a tall, gruff, bewildered, tattooed mountain of a man cuddling a sweet, orphaned baby, so you can tell yourself that you’ll resist him...But that’s a lie. And when that man asks you to do him a favor and pretend to be his very temporary, very fake fiance to help him get custody of that adorable baby, you can pretend you know better than to say yes...But that’s a lie, too.

Decent 2nd addition to the series
Revisado: 01-16-21
This one was definitely difficult for me to get through. Lack of communication between the characters is a difficult plot point for me to muscle through, specially with audio where I can't just skim the words. Parish was extremely difficult for me to like. His character traits were written well however. Diesel and Marigold were freaking adorable.
All in all this couple were a great addition to the town and it's ever growing cast of oddballs.

Historia
Amel thought saving Savette would fix everything. But when it turns out that Savette’s kidnapping was arranged by a secret society within the Dominion and a friend’s life hangs in the balance, Amel is once again at the center of conspiracy. Who should she trust when everyone wants to see her sworn to them? Fans of Anne McCaffrey’s Dragon Riders of Pern and Christopher Paolini’s Eragon will love the Dragon School series.

Wishing each installment was longer
Revisado: 05-14-20
Ha! So as is the case with episode length stories I wish they were longer. Buuut it's also kind of fun to listen in these short bursts. Being a busy mom (and while I'm stuck in quarantine I still have a ton I need to do) so having a couple hours of quiet is about all I have at once.
Again with the world building. Love it, so much happens. I do kind of feel like the main female character is still kind of just sitting on the side lines not contributing much to the story arc and as she said, "being a pawn". Now, that being said, I feel like there was a ton of foreshadowing in this one and can not freaking wait to see her step the F up and be fierce and kick butt :)

Great world building
Revisado: 05-09-20
I am loving all the world building and character development in this story. Each installment introduces more and more to the world. It's done in a slow manner allowing the listener to adjust and take it all in.
The MC is really beginning to develop and come into herself. At this point in the story all her faults are still blaring but that's another aspect that I'm happy to see. Means that she didn't go from a nothing to BAM! Instant hero.

Hard listen
Revisado: 05-06-20
The narrator..... Man she is a challenge to get through. Which is sad because she really does have a great voice and potential to be awesome. She just doesn't have any expression while reading. Somber moments sound the same as high stress moments.
The story is well thought out and beginning to pick up. Some parts do seem rushed but I wonder of that is because of a word count restraint to keep the story in this episode format.
The more I listen the more I am connecting the story to those that I read growing up of badass lead female characters that provide great role models for the pre-teen/young teenager age group. I am hoping to story continues to unfold that way. I think my two daughters would really enjoy the story as they get older.
All in all I am excited to see what happens next.

Good Start
Revisado: 05-06-20
The story is well developed and you can tell that the author has spent the time building up the world. The story is difficult to listen to at times because the verbiage used seems simplified and meant for a younger audience with very few variants in how dialog is presented.
The narrator is extremely hard for me to get past. While she is clear and concise with the words and pronunciation there is little to no inflection to her voice which makes the characters sound dull and emotionless. Which they aren't.
I am enjoying the story so far and am excited to see how it begins to unfold.

Historia
The DFZ, the metropolis formerly known as Detroit, is the world’s most magical city with a population of nine million and zero public safety laws. That’s a lot of mages, cybernetically enhanced chrome heads, and mythical beasties who die, get into debt, and otherwise fail to pay their rent. When they can’t pay their bills, their stuff gets sold to the highest bidder. That’s when they call me. I’m a Cleaner: a freelance mage employed by the DFZ to sort through the mountains of magical junk people leave behind. It’s not a pretty job, or a safe one....
