One of the Best Books on this Subject
Revisado: 08-07-18
I am a practicing therapist and also someone who still deals personally with codependency issues. I found this book extremely well written and helpful. I am recommending it to clients who are struggling in relationships with narcissistic personalities. In fact, we all come in contact with this personality type at times, so this information can help a wide audience.
The author describes narcissism in a way that is easily understood with practical suggestions on how to handle people who exhibit this behavior. If you suspect you are dealing with a narcissist in your life and finding it baffling, don’t hesitate to get this book!

Historia
Finding logical inconsistencies, factual errors, and doublespeak wherever he looks, Al Franken takes on and destroys the myth of liberal bias in the media, hoists the Bush White House on its own rhetorical petard, and punctures the mean-spirited sanctimony of such media darlings as Ann Coulter and Bill O'Reilly. Timely, provocative, unfailingly honest, and always uproarious, Lies is sure to raise hackles and spark hilarity inside the Beltway and from sea to shining sea.

Franken Nails Lying Right
Revisado: 07-12-17
I loved listening to the biting wit of one of America's best comedians and satirists as he illustrates how many politicians and pundits lie and manipulate. Especially relevant in our present time of craziness with Trump in the White House and Franken in the Senate!

Fascinating Story!!! I
Revisado: 12-11-16
I first saw Trevor Noah a few years ago on YouTube, before he was a household name and hosting The Daily Show. I thought he was one of the best comedians I had ever seen - witty, quirky, full of surprise twists in his humor, intelligent and self-assured. He had insight into culture, sociology and psychology, and that South African accent gave him an air of erudite sophistication.
I heard him mention that his father was Swiss and wondered what his life might have been like in South Africa, but I couldn't have guessed the truth of that question. These stories of his childhood are amazing, and the constant strength of his wise, intelligent, loving mother sustains him through his harsh childhood during and after apartheid. There is plenty of humor, but the stories are also rich with old fashioned good storytelling and insight into history and the bonds and oppressions accompanying race and language.
I am so glad he narrated it. I enjoyed every minute!

Tibetans call their cherished tradition of Buddhism a "wish-fulfilling jewel tree" for its power to generate bliss and enlightenment within all who absorb its teachings. This path to enlightenment, it is taught, requires more than a sitting meditation practice alone. With The Jewel Tree of Tibet, honored scholar and teacher Robert Thurman brings these insights to you as they were meant to be transmitted, through the spoken word.

Historia
Despite constant efforts to declutter your home, do papers still accumulate like snowdrifts and clothes pile up like a tangled mess of noodles?Japanese cleaning consultant Marie Kondo takes tidying to a whole new level, promising that if you properly simplify and organize your home once, you'll never have to do it again. Most methods advocate a room-by-room or little-by-little approach, which doom you to pick away at your piles of stuff forever.

Good ideas
Revisado: 03-07-16
I am using the ideas in this book and they really work. Very helpful and making a difference in my life, but not magical. My only criticism is that the book was too long and some of the claims are extreme, at least in my experience. She even suggests that people who "tidy up" using her methods may lose weight and have better skin. Maybe my home wasn't cluttered enough before for this to be so life changing, but my take on it is that some claims are just silly. That aside, she has very good ideas about how to stop clutter and develop a different relationship with your possessions. On that fundamental basis I recommend it highly.

Cutting Through Spiritual Materialism

Historia
In this modern spiritual classic, the Tibetan meditation master Chögyam Trungpa highlights the commonest pitfall to which every aspirant on the spiritual path falls prey: what he calls spiritual materialism. The universal tendency, he shows, is to see spirituality as a process of self-improvement - the impulse to develop and refine the ego when the ego is, by nature, essentially empty. "The problem is that ego can convert anything to its own use," he said, "even spirituality."

Excellent
Revisado: 07-25-15
If you are ready to cut through the belief that your spiritual practice is "improving" you and cast aside New Age notions that you can "get something" by changing the way you think, this book will create a clearing for something else to happen. Gave me clarity and an understanding of foundations of Buddhism.

Excellent! Great Guide for Dream Work
Revisado: 03-04-15
I have journaled dreams off and on since 1981, taken classes and read many books on this subject. I am a practicing psychotherapist and often recommend dream work for my clients, so I am thrilled when I find a resource of this caliber. Robert Moss reads his material in a conversational style that is refreshing and easy to listen to. He references many theories and styles of approaching dream work, and he clearly has a very thorough knowledge of the subject as well as extensive personal experience doing his own dream work. I have been looking for a resource to help me move beyond interpretation of dreams into direct experience of the dream and what he calls "active dreaming." This is it, and I am already using his methods to expand my dream work into new levels. This book could appeal to anyone from beginners through experienced seekers. I recommend it very highly!
