Historia
One day, on her way to a date, Isabella Huffington gets hit by a bike. What begins as a concussion with a diagnosed recovery time of seven-to-ten days becomes more than two years of debilitating pain with no apparent end and a string of unhelpful doctor and specialist visits. In the wreckage, jobs are canceled. Leases are broken. There is no second date. What’s left is Isabella, her body, and her pain. Because the source of her pain cannot be located within the body, she is told over and over that her pain is psychosomatic. And Isabella believes it, over and over.

Wasn’t expecting that.....
Revisado: 05-08-21
I downloaded this book because of the catchy title and began to listen. It was incredible. It really presented me with so many different thoughts about my own life by introducing a different perspective.
For anyone with mental health or physical pain; this book gives you hope whole validating your experience.
I didn’t expect to even listen to it (I have a habit of downloading free books then never getting to them) instead I now know I will be listening to it again!

Historia
Our brains do their best to help us out, but every so often they can be real assholes - having meltdowns, getting addicted to things, or shutting down completely at the worst possible moments. Your brain knows it's not good to do these things, but it can't help it sometimes - especially if it's obsessing about trauma it can't overcome. That's where this life-changing book comes in. With humor, patience, science, and lots of good-ole swearing, Dr. Faith explains what's going on in your skull, and talks you through the process of retraining your brain to respond appropriately....

Amazing book- poor audio quality
Revisado: 04-02-21
The book is amazing. The sound quality is choppy. Voice fades in and out; several areas where background noise was a distraction. The book is amazing and I love that it is read by the author but I would really appreciate if they read did the audio.
Will definitely listen to agin and agin as I start to apply skills to my life.

Historia
Part manual and part memoir, Jenniffer Weigel pulls back the curtain of her life and shares how getting a divorce and moving away from her "white picket fence" dream actually helped her gain a greater awareness and happiness. Her sense of humor reminds us that even though staying on the spiritual path has its fair share of challenges, you are not alone and you will laugh again.

A breath of fresh air for the soul.
Revisado: 12-27-20
I had started this book once a few months ago and wasn’t ready for it in my life.
When I pressed play last week: one week before Christmas during a pandemic it was as if this book was saving itself for me at the time I needed it most.
If you listen you will agree that perhaps that is exactly what happened.
Looking forward to listening again to remind myself of the work I’m doing within.
