Welcome to Sutton Station: one of the world's largest working farms in the middle of Australia - where if the animals and heat don't kill you first, your heart just might. Charlie Sutton runs Sutton Station the only way he knows how: the way his father did before him. Determined to keep his head down and his heart in check, Charlie swears the red dirt that surrounds him - isolates him - runs through his veins.

I adore the book, not the narration
Revisado: 01-28-17
What did you like best about Red Dirt Heart? What did you like least?
I bought RDH1 because I loved reading it, but the narration just did not work for me. There are other narrators who are better suited to perform stories set in Australia. I just could not even get through the first chapter...so disappointed
What didn’t you like about Joel Leslie’s performance?
It sounded contrived.

A great narrator for a great book.
Revisado: 12-05-15
Would you listen to The Half of Us again? Why?
Absolutely! I have read the story a few times, but Robison brought a whole new life and dimension to the book and characters.
Who was your favorite character and why?
Without a doubt, Abe. He is such a sweet, kind, and understanding guy (perhaps too kind and understanding...)
Have you listened to any of Ezekiel Robison’s other performances before? How does this one compare?
No, this was the first, and it won't be the last.
If you could take any character from The Half of Us out to dinner, who would it be and why?
Abe, of course!
Any additional comments?
I highly recommend The Half Of Us narrated by Ezekiel Robison, buy it and see for yourself why he is a new fave narrator of mine.

Would you recommend this audiobook to a friend? If so, why?
Absolutely! The story was well crafted and the narration was very good, oh and Amy Lane...need I say more?
Who was your favorite character and why?
At this point in the series, I loved them all but the short list is Crick, Mikhail, Shane, Benny, and, well that will have to do.
Have you listened to any of Paul Morey’s other performances before? How does this one compare?
This performance was very good, I did have issues with his narration in one of the other books in the series but this one was well done.
Who was the most memorable character of Forever Promised and why?
See above.
Any additional comments?
Get the whole series, you won't regret it!

If I had to choose a best friend? Mikhail.
Revisado: 06-05-15
What did you love best about Making Promises?
It would have to be Shane and Mikhail, they were such engaging characters just trying to forge a future together.
What was one of the most memorable moments of Making Promises?
It is hard to pick just one because there were many great moments in the book, but if I had to choose one, it would be Mikhail's mother preparing Shane for her own death.
Have you listened to any of Paul Morey’s other performances before? How does this one compare?
This is one of his best performances, for narrative style as well as consistent characterizations.
Was there a moment in the book that particularly moved you?
Um, Mikhail's mother's death...

Historia
Jake has too many wild oats to sow to fall in love - or so he claims. Besides, he's much too busy with his band, the Wayward Sons, to go looking for romance. His reticence has nothing to do with his embarrassing crush on Chris, the band's lead singer and Jake's erstwhile best friend. But that was before enigmatic wanderer Parker McAvoy signed on as the band's new lead guitarist. He can only deny his attraction to sweet, dorky Parker for so long before the urge to do something about it becomes impossible to ignore.

Loved the paperback, loved the audio performance!
Revisado: 06-01-15
Would you recommend this audiobook to a friend? If so, why?
I am a big fan of Ashlyn Kane and read the paperback of American Love Songs years ago. When I felt like re-reading it, I chose the audiobook and was very happy with my decision.
What was one of the most memorable moments of American Love Songs?
Parker's accidental audition is one and the ongoing blog posts primarily by Jake.
What about Sean Crisden’s performance did you like?
Crisden did a good job with vocal characterizations and maintained the various "voices" well throughout the story.
Was there a moment in the book that particularly moved you?
Moved? Not really, but I did find that Parker wanting to keep his relationship with Jake a secret was "less than kind".
Any additional comments?
I highly recommend American Love Songs, and will most certainly listen to is again.

Love the story, tolerated the narration
Revisado: 05-18-15
What did you love best about Living Promises?
The continuing story of the members of the Promise Rock books.
What aspect of Paul Morey’s performance would you have changed?
I cannot count the number of times Morey made a mistake with a character's name and having read the book, I know this was an editing error.
If you could take any character from Living Promises out to dinner, who would it be and why?
Carrick James, without a doubt. I can only imagine what dinner with him and his complete lack of filter would be like.
Any additional comments?
Overall, a good listen.

Average at best
Revisado: 04-30-15
What did you like best about Ugly? What did you like least?
The overall story was compelling and important.
How would you have changed the story to make it more enjoyable?
The excessive references to how gorgeous the other guys were and how ugly he was got old fast. The audio quality was poor, whenever the narrator spoke, I could hear something like feedback / a background hum when he spoke which made listening irritating.
How could the performance have been better?
See above
Do you think Ugly needs a follow-up book? Why or why not?
No, the arc was fine as is.

Historia
Music is the only form of communication Connor Owens controls. No matter how badly he wishes to fit in, friendly banter and casual conversations have never been his thing. College is yet another social universe he has no clue how to navigate - until he meets Jared, a football player with chestnut eyes and a cocky grin that holds the power to shatter his self-imposed prison.

Awesome book and narrator
Revisado: 10-26-14
What did you love best about Social Skills?
Alva did an excellent job creating characters with depth and real emotion and I am not just speaking about Connor and Jared. Connor’s mother, a two-dimensional character on the surface, had very subtle traits that drove her behavior toward the various Owens family members. Connor’s sister exhibited empathy and emotion that caught me off guard, but that also made perfect sense once the big picture was exposed, and Rebecca showed herself to be a steady and reliable confidant for Connor.
Have you listened to any of Andrew Eiden’s other performances before? How does this one compare?
As for the narration, I have found myself a new favourite narrator in Andrew Eiden. Almost every character was done in a distinct and consistent fashion with one exception. Connor’s pit bandmate, Ray, sounded an awful lot like Jared, but aside from that, an excellent job. Eiden’s narrative voice was clear, the pace perfect, and the gaps due to editing were minimal and so it was rare that I got pulled out of the story for these all too common reasons.
Any additional comments?
I was well and truly sucked into their world and loved to see the power play between Connor and Jared, especially and the story progressed and I could track the slowly shifting power from Jared to Connor. This does not mean that Connor all of a sudden became a confident, outgoing guy, but rather demonstrated an increase in his confidence and an unwillingness to continue to live his life as he was before, while Jared seemed to shrink in on himself as he slowly came to terms with being gay.
