Historia
In 2204, humanity is expanding into the wider galaxy in leaps and bounds. Cutting-edge technology of linked jump gates has rendered most forms of transportation - including starships - virtually obsolete. Every place on Earth, every distant planet humankind has settled, is now a step away from any other. And all seems wonderful - until a crashed alien spaceship of unknown origin is found on a newly located world 89 light-years from Earth, carrying a cargo as strange as it is horrifying. To assess the potential of the threat a high-powered team is dispatched to investigate. But one of them may not be all they seem....

Interesting catalyst to a story, bland characters
Revisado: 01-08-22
This entire story is setting things up for the trilogy. You get to follow a sequence of events along parallel timelines, both in the past and in the future, narrated as short stories. All timelines seem disjoint until the last three chapters, when the author ties everything together.
Most charters were dull and unsympathetic, and I found myself only caring about Callum, the underdog. While I enjoyed the investigative theme of some of the stories, I really disliked found it hard to summarise with the protagonists, finding them dull, like corporate drones hungering for promotion and recognition. I struggled to get through the stories about Juloss, those chapters were dire. Awful characters in a dreadfully drab (and predictable) storyline.
The narrator did a wonder job though as usual.

Historia
Meet the galaxy's unluckiest outlaws. Carl Ramsey is an ex-Earth Navy fighter pilot turned con man. His ship, the Mobius, is home to a ragtag crew of misfits and refugees looking to score a big payday but more often just scratching to pay for fuel. The crew consists of his ex-wife (and pilot), a drunkard, four-handed mechanic, a xeno-predator with the disposition of a 120kg housecat, and the galaxy's most-wanted wizard.

Firefly cranked up on Meth plus a Space Wizard!

An incredibly story, full of entertainment.
Revisado: 12-03-19
Galaxy Outlaws is excellent. It is spiritually closely connected with the amazing TV series Firefly, with likeable and interesting characters and hilariously twisting storylines. The narrator makes the story come alive, making this my best Audible purchase since I joined all those years ago.

It is picking up...
Revisado: 07-29-19
Heavy cruisers, battleships and dreadnaughts... This is an episode that focuses on grand space battles. It felt like the author pretty much just skipped hardship that followed the last episode, and focused on ensuing battles. I quite liked it, despite the inhuman effort the crew had to put in to repair the Aurora.

A rushed disappointment
Revisado: 03-01-19
Way too short. Felt like it ended in a rush, especially with everything going on. The author could have elaborated on so much, but settled with a couple of relatively uninteresting space battles. Nah. A disappointment overall.
