Historia
Little more than 10 years after the first powered flight, aircraft were pressed into service in World War I. Nearly forgotten in the war's massive overall death toll, some 50,000 aircrew would die in the combatant nations' fledgling air forces. The romance of aviation had a remarkable grip on the public imagination, propaganda focusing on gallant air "aces" who become national heroes. The reality was horribly different. Marked for Death debunks popular myth to explore the brutal truths of wartime aviation.

Sinai is NOT pronounced Sigh-knee-ah

pretty good yarn overall ... considering my dad went to flight school in the class behind Lindberg, much of the history was truly fascinating!
Being a Lawrence/Shaw/Ross (of Arabia fame) I would have liked more on the war in the desert.

Historia
Killashandra Ree was drawn like a magnet to the song of crystal, and now it's erasing her memory. She knew the forgetfulness would be a byproduct of the singing, and she doesn't mind the little annoyances, like being unable to remember her address or the names of her colleagues. But she hadn't counted on the loneliness a person can feel when the heart still remembers what the mind has forgotten. Can the crystal that destroyed her memory somehow restore it?

Historia
Killashandra Ree has spent ten grueling years in musical training, anticipating interstellar celebrity as a vocal soloist. She is young, beautiful—and still without prospects. After learning that a flaw in her voice will prevent her from singing lead, she hears of the mysterious Heptite Guild on the planet Ballybran, where the fabled Black Crystal is found. Mining this strange form of crystal is a dangerous occupation but to Killa, the risks are acceptable. Remarkably, her adaptation to crystal mining is unusually easy. The problem is—few people who land on Ballybran ever leave.

never ever change the reader in a series
Revisado: 10-20-18
changes in voice and pronunciation were continual jarring notes. if the original reader produces another version, I'll buy it in an instant. this one is probably going back for a refund.
also, perhaps it was the reader, but the "he/she said..." seemed to overwhelm the narrative at times. so sorry, but this one just didn't have the grabbing, riveting narrative of the original trilogy. other than that it WAS a good yarn, and shed much light on the deClermont family history, and US history as well. MORE PLEASE.
