Historia
Holly Hill (pseudonym) gave up her job at the behest of her wealthy boyfriend - and then found herself dumped and penniless. After spending six weeks in bed pining for her lost love, she was encouraged by a friend to be "open-minded" about her career choices - and ended up placing an online ad for a sugar daddy. She received an almost overwhelming response from all sorts of men, but most of them were married men whose wives had lost interest in sex. As Holly interviewed the men and settled on a candidate, she decided to record what happened next.

This is just bad
Revisado: 04-15-25
Really poorly written and fairly pointless. I don’t understand the author’s insistence that her small sample size produces universal truths. It seems like she is a terrible person - not because of the sex for money thing, but because she is so delusional that she thinks that she alone can help relationships by having sex with one of the partners.

Historia
On January 11, 1995, deputies outside Austin, Texas, found a mutilated body laid across a cold campfire—head destroyed, hands cut off, skin singed by fire. In less than three days, they had the kill zone: a small apartment, where shy Christopher Hatton was shot at point blank range in his bed.

Don’t pay for this
Revisado: 03-27-25
Bad narrator and a tedious retelling of an awful crime.
You could save yourself some time and just read the interview and court transcripts.

When Vonlee "Nicole" Titlow and her aunt, Billie Jean Rogers, came home from a night of gambling in a casino near Detroit, they told police they found Billie's husband unconscious on the floor of the Rogers' mansion. Just another of his alcoholic benders, they assumed. But this time, Donald Rogers didn't wake up.

Awful narrator
Revisado: 01-16-25
This was a repetitive slog of a book, made worse by a narrator that is weirdly offensive.
Avoid this narrator.

Historia
At first, the residents of Kauai Beach Resort took little notice of their new neighbors. The glamorous blonde and her tall husband fit the image of the ritzy gated community. The couple seemed to keep to themselves - until the police knocked on their door with a search warrant. Lori Vallow and Chad Daybell had fled to Hawaii in the midst of being investigated for the disappearance of Lori's children back in Idaho - Tylee and JJ - who hadn't been seen alive in five months.

Poor choices
Revisado: 09-21-24
This was a book that was written and published before the trials. That seems odd, as it left a big question unanswered. In addition, some parts are repetitive, while other areas are left with gaping holes.
As for the narrator - he’s a nice narrator. But he’s not the right choice for a book taking place in the American states of Texas, Arizona, Hawaii, and Idaho.

David Brown was the consummate entrepreneur: a computer wizard and millionaire by age thirty-two. When his beautiful young wife was shot to death as she slept, Brown's fourteen-year-old daughter, Cinnamon, confessed to killing her stepmother. The California courts sentenced her harshly: twenty-four years to life. But in the wake of Cinnamon's murder conviction, thanks in part to two determined lawmen, the twisted private world of David Brown himself unfolded with astonishing clarity—revealing a trail of perverse love, twisted secrets, and evil mind games.

Amazing story
Revisado: 05-23-23
A description of true evil. Ann Rule does such an excellent job of providing multiple points of view of the different people involved.
