Historia
Sydney Shaw, like every single woman in New York, has terrible luck with dating. She’s seen it all: men who lie in their dating profile, men who stick her with the dinner bill, and worst of all, men who can't shut up about their mothers. But finally, she hits the jackpot. Her new boyfriend is utterly perfect. He's charming, handsome, and works as a doctor at a local hospital. Sydney is swept off her feet. Then the brutal murder of a young woman—the latest in a string of deaths across the coast—confounds police. The primary suspect? A mystery man who dates his victims before he kills them.

I liked the way the main character figured out the clues. It was very ambitious the way they worked out.

Amazing!
Revisado: 03-21-21
What a beautiful cool ordination Nicholas sparks made in making two beautiful stories evolve into a loving conclusion. If you’ve read Nicholas Sparks books, don’t hesitate for this one (I did earlier because of the cowboy hats on the cover). If you haven’t, start now with his writings. You will enjoy each story. I’ve heard that he had divorced his wife, with the sensitivity and love in his work - that is hard to comprehend. This is a book to enjoy!

A novel in finding a new beginning
Revisado: 09-15-20
This was a sensitive portrayal of a life experience by a male writer that went a different way (in my knowledge) than it would have in real life; but a different perspective is what makes a good story. I really enjoyed this book and it did make me think about the woman’s feelings . . . having a very similar experience, I cannot conceive of a woman who really wanted a family to give up, I didn’t. No matter - I do feel it is worthwhile to recommend this novel for all the information given about foster children!

Revisado: 03-11-20
This author wrote each person's part in this drama to create feeling for each character. I have to say that it was only close to the end that I realized the culprit! Gregg Olsen wrote so convincingly that the "whodunit" solution sneaked up on me!

Historia
Born to survivalists in the mountains of Idaho, Tara Westover was seventeen the first time she set foot in a classroom. Her family was so isolated from mainstream society that there was no one to ensure the children received an education, and no one to intervene when one of Tara’s older brothers became violent. When another brother got himself into college, Tara decided to try a new kind of life. Her quest for knowledge transformed her, taking her over oceans and across continents, to Harvard and to Cambridge University.

What a story of survival!
Revisado: 02-03-20
The author wrote this story of her life growing up in the Idaho state, in a Mormon family, where her father was bi-polar and her mother adhered to his demands. She suffered at the hands of her older brother and her father; amazing that she was influenced by one brother, Tyler, and she struggled to adapt to the life she was learning with education compared to the struggle of her growing up years. Her ability to get admitted to Brigham Young University, then to further study at Cambridge in England is admirable. The reader roots for her as she grows to be the person that she really is!
