Ashley Perrin is fresh out of college and starting a job as a community liaison for the Third District–the city’s only sector with more alien residents than humans. Ashley’s barely found where the paper clips are kept when she’s beset with constituent complaints–from too much noise at the Annual Lupidian Celebration Parade to a trip-and-fall chicken to a very particular type of alien hornet that threatens the very city itself. And if that’s not terrifying enough, Ashley is next up at the office karaoke night.

this feels like this is the pilot episode for an NBC show that would've been at home in the era of 30 Rock + Parks & Rec. I LOVE IT!
I forget where I saw an advertisement for this. maybe just my feed in Audible?
I liked the quirky office team of aliens and 1 human.
what bums me out is that I can't watch this as a show and that it was short. I'm not sure if there's more of these already here on Audible. if there are, 👍 GREAT, I plan to listen to more. if not, I really hope the author plans to make some more of these.
Amber Ruffin did great as the various voices of the characters. and I think bc I recognized her name from Seth Meyer's show & Amber Says What, I sort of pictured her or a version of her as the main character 😆❤️.
I loved the bit with chicken and con-woman. I hope they come back in the next story. Glad this was included with Audible. good job. ❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️

thanks 4 pt 1. I've heard of this guy via a few what went wrong with reddit videos. but I think one of them got SUPER FEAR MONGERY and conspiratorial it messed up my view of the situation. this felt more level headed and intro'd the fact he had some kind of stomach issues and some other issues. the conspiracy stuff could still be coming in pt 2, I don't know. but I liked the podcast story I'm hearing.
thanks for doing an episode this week just b4 Christmas, really appreciate it. thank u. hope this review helped you I'm algorithm. I noticed there really aren't any reviews on these via audible. so i hope this helped.❤️🔥

Marvel Entertainment was a moribund toymaker not even twenty years ago. Today, Marvel Studios is the dominant player both in Hollywood and in global pop culture. How did an upstart studio conquer the world? In MCU, beloved culture writers Joanna Robinson, Dave Gonzales, and Gavin Edwards draw on more than a hundred interviews with actors, producers, directors, and writers to present the definitive chronicle of Marvel Studios and its sole ongoing production, the Marvel Cinematic Universe.

Pretty Good MCU story so far as of recently...
Revisado: 10-20-23
somebody in a previous review on here said it's kind of a collection of news articles from over the years or something. I guess you could kind of say that due to some of these stories feeling familiar if you follow a lot articles on Marvel released over the years or follow YouTubers that've touched on this history in the past.
But I think this was a good book that collected all those details and rolled them all into one. Also I think it covered some parts that I don't think I heard before. for instance going into a little more detail on what Ed Norton had in mind as far as the creative differences that were talked about for his split after the Hulk movie.
nice to hear a mention of Malia Arrayah from She-Hulk.
Talks about the odd way the Disney+ shows are set up w/o the traditional showrunner. I think this book goes up to Quantumania as far as what's covered, so no talk of Secret Invasion, the Writers and Actors strike putting a hold on things. And slowing down the output on things and doing Quality Control.
overall good book on the start of things and managing the whole structure as they got bigger and are still managing things. thought it was cool to learn about their writers program.
I'd say it's worth getting, cash or using one of your saved credits.
it'd just be nice if the authors knew how to talk about some of the more recent social problems a large part of the audience has had with the MCU post Endgame.

Interesting ideas but confusing and hard 2 follow
Revisado: 10-14-23
Not sure I buy a lot of the ideas here.
This could be organized WAY better. was confusing and hard to follow. I wouldn't spend money or credits on this. Mostly got it because at the time of this review it was available for free on Audible and I was curious to see what it said.
it helps to get through the 19hr book by listening to it at 2x speed.
the using a quote from Info Wars gave me pause to give this side eye and a shaker of salt. The Von Dainken thing with the Chariots of the Gods and Ancient Astronaut stuff also gives me pause with all the pseduo history stuff with the anunaki stuff. It's an interesting idea and story, but I don't know about how verifiable any of this is. Might make for an interesting story. I know they used the anunaki in a season of one of the more darker Scooby Doo, haven't had a chance to see the whole thing personally outside of clips, but it did seem kind of interesting.
His take or takes he's gathered on the Protocols of the Elders of Zion...I'm not sure if it was less anti-semetic than i expected and was one of the more charitable takes, but I don't entirely know. I'd need a second opinion and somebody to cross reference ALL the details and stuff in here. it's a lot.
overall, make sure have extra salt packets for this one folks and ready to try and cross reference stuff. Although i assume if the stuff can't be found to verify adherants would probably say something like that's the point, it's super secret, there's no way they want or leave the ability to find this kind of stuff, therby lending to some credence to the ideas in here. I think that just means we don't know this at the moment. Or something. I don't know this genre is headache inducing and you'd probably need a degree and expertise in cats cradles to untangle and verify this kind of stuff.
I did learn of a new secret organization that I had never heard of before called The White Dragon Society. It's too bad the show Inside Job didn't get another season, a lot of the stuff in here with the secret society stuff and weird confusing stuff would've made good material for the next season.
unless it's free for you or you're looking for weird conspiracy ideas for a story, i don't think this is fully a good purchase.

For many years she manages to live under the radar, keeping her dark secret unknown to those around her. However, gradually her evil side gains strength until Dr Jekyll is overwhelmed by Eleanor Hyde, to disastrous consequences. An exploration of human duality and forces of good and evil, this modern retelling is compelling and eerie and retains the disturbing nature of the original text.

Great Audio Drama, meh adaptation
Revisado: 07-16-23
Thought this was a really well voice acted and produced audio drama retelling of the story of Dr.Jekyll and Mr.Hyde set in the modern day with a gender swap. I thought at first this might be a slightly changed up retelling of the story I read. I was curious to see if this would be different from the book or 1931 film adaptation. I was kind of disappointed that this was pretty much the original book with a few elements modernized to update it. However this was a very well produced audio drama of the story big applause all around for that.
I think what I kind of wanted and hoped for was a version of the story with a few differences in actions or something with the gender swap to make this stand apart slightly from the source material. Also maybe to see a few different things happen in the story and destination or something to that effect. Not really sure.
If you're after an adaptation of the classic story of Jekyll and Hyde, this is a perfect shot for shot version of it. Made as a great audio drama. But if you were looking for something different that maybe expands off of it or something to that effect, I'm sorry but this isn't it.

Worn out after decades of packing steel and raising hell, Viv, the orc barbarian, cashes out of the warrior’s life with one final score. A forgotten legend, a fabled artifact, and an unreasonable amount of hope lead her to the streets of Thune, where she plans to open the first coffee shop the city has ever seen. However, her dreams of a fresh start filling mugs instead of swinging swords are hardly a sure bet. Old frenemies and Thune’s shady underbelly may just upset her plans. To finally build something that will last, Viv will need some new partners, and a different kind of resolve.

...this was really cute.
Character that's known fighting all her life trying to get a fresh start via a coffee shop is a neat premise. I like Viv's friends and neighbors. Also the local dire-cat that visits. Had a good time listening to this book. Looking forward to the next story in this series.

Historia
In her late 30's, Rosaria encountered something that turned her world upside down - the idea that Christianity, a religion she had regarded as problematic, might be right about who God was. That idea seemed to fly in the face of the people and causes that she most loved. What follows is a story of what she describes as a train wreck at the hand of the supernatural. These are her secret thoughts about those events, written as only a reflective English professor could.

Revisado: 04-19-23
been hearing about Butterfield for years. Nice to get some more context of her lesbian testimony. I'm kind of curious what has since happened to some of the people she left behind from her old university after her parting of ways. I know that's not the focus of her testimony here. I was just kind of curious as a where are they now kind of thing and hope they're OK. Nice to hear Butterfield has a nice home, family and home school community and system going. Like a picture straight out of Adventures in Odyssey, minus and chaos causing computer programs or secret agents.
(sorry for the side tangent there 😅 😁)
overall good book
performed well
maybe would've liked to see some b4 and after for a few other people if it was possible
this seems to tell a lot, I think, probably missing stuff, I don't know.

well...that was surprisingly good! excellent reading from Caitlin Kelly. really brought this book to life. while there are certain things from the anime I don't think you can get across in soley audio alone, the book does an excellent job with its reading. This was a really nice endavor of the publisher to branch out into audio book form. I'm looking forward to the next installment of this book to go along with the anime. 😍😎

Otherwise known as the “Roma” or by their popular misnomer “the gypsies”, the members of this highly undervalued and grossly misrepresented community have long been considered outcasts. More often than not, the Romani are branded by even those who fancy themselves liberals as “pikeys”, “gyppos”, and “gips”. There's also a regrettably common term “gypped” meaning “to cheat, or swindle” which perpetuates the damaging stereotype that the Roma are dishonest nuisances and societal pests.

eh, an ok start on subject of the roma
Revisado: 03-03-22
I was curious on the history of the Roma and wanted to know some history of them after hearing all the stereotypes on them in popular media for years. Thought this was a good start on the topic. I was hoping for more. I'd say this is a good intro book, pretty short if you're driving or getting a work out in.
wish there was a larger follow up.
narrator read this well and sounds good.
decent intro
I'd give this a soft recommend on the subject. hope Audible adds more audio books on this topic.
