Historia
Old Steel is a personal chronicle about how we must evolve and rethink our martial arts training and teachings as we age. Old Steel challenges us as aging martial artists to change how we think about the very nature of our martial arts. Gabelhouse offers up a narrative about how we can positively evolve our martial training through the changes and challenges of old age. Old Steel will benefit not only aging martial artists, but also those who can see old age from where they are standing in life.

Interesting perspective on aging
Revisado: 12-19-21
While this book is targeted at aging martial artists, there are some good takeaways for aging in general. The lens of the martial artist gives a unique perspective on how our bodies, relationships, and abilities change over time.
The narrator was easy to listen to and kept the story engaging.

It starts strong, and then falls a bit flat.
Revisado: 04-24-20
It had a very interesting storyline going until the plot twist. The ending felt rushed.

Historia
Since the introduction of dietary guidelines calling for reduced fat intake in the 1970s, a strange phenomenon has occurred: Americans have steadily, inexorably become heavier, less healthy, and more prone to diabetes than ever before. After putting more than two thousand of his at-risk patients on a wheat-free regimen and seeing extraordinary results, cardiologist William Davis has come to the disturbing conclusion that it is not fat, not sugar, not our sedentary lifestyle that is causing America’s obesity epidemic—it is wheat.

I started recommending this book before I finished
Revisado: 11-08-16
There is no doubt that you will recognize yourself or loved one who can be helped by reading this book.
While listening to this book, I would pause it to call someone to tell them about this. As Dr. Davis described symptoms cause by wheat, I would envision different people in my life (and myself).

Historia
A decade ago, kidnappers grabbed two boys from wealthy families and demanded ransom, then went silent. No trace of the boys ever surfaced. For 10 years their families have been left with nothing but painful memories and a quiet desperation for the day that has finally, miraculously arrived: Myron Bolitar and his friend Win believe they have located one of the boys, now a teenager. Where has he been for 10 years, and what does he know about the day, more than half a life ago, when he was taken?

Flat characters with semi-interesting story
Revisado: 09-27-16
I decided to try this book after seeing a review on the CBS Morning News. I will never do that, again.
These characters are quite boring. Apparently have the characters constantly name dropping designers and brands makes them appealing to some, but I thought it made them seem desperate for approval.
The story was interesting enough to finish the book.
I would not recommend.
