Historia
Terra is besieged. The outcome of the war lies on a knife edge. The Warmaster Horus’ bloody seven-year crusade has led to this – the cradle of humanity, where he is to kill his father, the Emperor. With the war at this critical juncture, Sanguinius, primarch of the loyalist Blood Angels, braves the horrors of the Warmaster’s flagship, The Vengeful Spirit, with a single purpose in mind – to slay his brother Horus, decapitate the Heresy once and for all, and stop the forces of Chaos from taking Terra.

Historia
More than 3,000 years have passed since the first events recorded in Dune. Only one link survives with those tumultuous times: the grotesque figure of Leto Atreides, son of the prophet Paul Muad'Dib, and now the virtually immortal God Emperor of Dune. He alone understands the future, and he knows with a terrible certainty that the evolution of his race is at an end unless he can breed new qualities into his species.

Historia
Before the being called the Emperor revealed himself, before the rise of the aeldari, before the necrontyr traded their flesh for immortal metal, the world was born in violence. Even when they inhabited bodies of flesh, Trazyn the Infinite and Orikan the Diviner were polar opposites. Trazyn, a collector of historical oddities, presides over a gallery full of the most dangerous artefacts - and people - of the galactic past. Orikan, a chronomancer without peer, draws zodiacs that predict and manipulate the future.

3/5 of a great book
Revisado: 03-10-21
The second and third parts were putting me into the Long Sleep and the primary character development is all discarded at the end of the story, so there's really nothing that this book really ends up doing. It's both interesting and bland at different times the way time is compared against these characters, although I started getting tired of the repetitive use of "65 million years" by the end. That being said, a couple of portions were interesting, namely when the environment is really "fleshed out," as it were, and the development of some of the side characters. Outside of either of those circumstances, there was too much being done at once and it ended up feeling like a list of events and actions, which I suppose is in-character. If you're interested in Trazyn's collection, pre-Biotransference Necrontyr or what Orikan's time garbage is, from his perspective, I'd give it a shot. Otherwise, you won't get much out of this.

I liked the narrative and there were plenty of touches like footsteps and other small sounds that added a lot. There were a lot of narrators as well so there was an added level of effect.

Interesting But Specific Lore, Great Narration
Revisado: 09-08-19
It was a little hard to follow and I often found myself rewinding a number of times just to follow where or what I missed. Really interesting insight into Terran lore but overall murky story.
I like the narrator and I noticed he's the only narrator for Games Workshop that doesn't occasionally drop his voice so low I can't understand him.
My favorite characters weren't actually in the main cast, mostly because they weren't exactly cohesive.
An overall good story for the lore and depictions of secrets and little-told depictions of things on Terra. Though you might have to rewind a few times just to understand what the last 3 minutes of explanation we're about

Gromdark Romance Novel
Revisado: 01-24-19
it's a glorified romance novel but in the grimmest, darkest way possible. it's one of only a handful of books that contains information on some very specific Warhammer characters so if you like researching specific Warhammer characters then it's pretty great for that. Otherwise it's a pretty good novel but there is some information that one needs to know that I feel like is not presented properly for the average reader. I'm not sure because I'm very steeped in the fandom but it feels like some people might struggle to understand the full meaning of what's going on.
from a perspective on perspective it's really interesting that it focus is on a very old character a very young character and a practically ageless character. having a perspective from these three different people really helps flesh out the story and give better perspective in a more holistic manner than would otherwise be possible.

Good Introduction to a Long-standing Arc
Revisado: 08-06-18
I mostly listen to audiobooks while working out and I've finally finished this 10 hour monster. While the vocal choice was very good, there were some moments where I didn't actually follow what they were saying due to accent choice. It's overall a good listen though, especially for something this long and ultimately it doesn't sound like a bunch of guys playing DND in the basement with horrible accents so it's a-ok in my book.
