Having traveled to London to escape the repercussions of her traumatic childhood in Australia, tragedy seems to follow Eleanor wherever she goes. To her horror, she has no memory of the crucial hours leading up to Arabella’s death - memory that will either incriminate or absolve her.

Not my favorite read. Story could have been told in half the time, IMO, but I’m not a writer.

What would the world be without Stephen King??
Revisado: 08-16-21
A rich and detailed driven story about the makings of one human and their impact on the world. Stephen King shows us that we are not good or bad but a delightful and delirious mix of passions and love, reaching for goodness and getting caught up along the journey with the ‘normalcy’ of our world.

What a difference a narrator makes
- De Richard en 08-03-11
Yep... horrible narration.
Revisado: 05-30-21
It was like fingernails on a chalkboard for the first few hours. You have to listen even closer as it is harder to figure out 'who' is speaking most times... exasperating! Had I not wanted to keep in synch with the series I would have returned it. It is a great, complex story. Trust that you will eventually deal with the narrator.

A Bit Long
Revisado: 08-04-20
There was so much narrative at times I got anxious to get on with it. I do love Carl, and Assad and Rose very much. I frequently laugh out loud hearing Carl's commentary about his crew. They are a becoming tighter and the bonds are heartwarming. I will be sad when I reach the end of the series. But until then, I'm on to the next one.

No one seems to take Naomi Pine's disappearance seriously, not even her father - with one exception. Hester Crimstein, a television criminal attorney, knows through her grandson that Naomi was relentlessly bullied at school. Hester asks Wilde - with whom she shares a tragic connection - to use his unique skills to help find Naomi.

Historia
Amos Decker witnesses a murder just outside FBI headquarters. A man shoots a woman execution style on a crowded sidewalk, then turns the gun on himself. Even with Decker's extraordinary powers of observation and deduction, the killing is baffling. Decker and his team can find absolutely no connection between the shooter - a family man with a successful consulting business - and his victim, a schoolteacher.

Horrible Narration
Revisado: 03-18-20
The voice for Amos Amos totally has ruined this story. Tbe writing seems off too with a college or even high school writing style... I cant even finish it. So sad.

Perpetuates MORE violence against women.
Revisado: 12-21-19
Just like all other pornography, this type of book has the ability to perpetuates more violence against women. To have part of the ending being that there are masked men all over the world abducting, slowing torturing and eventually murdering women was not a win. Why would any woman, Karin Slaughter, would waste her time on creating such a horrific story against women is beyond me. Stay away. I too, which I could 'unsee' this whole story.

Historia
At the local state university, two feuding departments have faced off on the battleground of science and medicine. Each carries their views to extremes that may seem absurd, but highly educated people of sound mind and good intentions can reasonably disagree, right? Then a renowned and confrontational scholar winds up dead, and Virgil Flowers is brought in to investigate...and as he probes the recent ideological unrest, he soon comes to realize he's dealing with people who, on this one particular issue, are functionally crazy.

a solid B
Revisado: 11-18-19
it was a decent enough story, nice to hear Virgil's voice again. Some parts were lame with all the 'pussy' talk and immature sexual references which was kind of a new point of view in this book I believe. It's not too offensive but something I hope the author will veer away from in the future.

Historia
In a wealthy Minneapolis neighborhood, two elderly women are bludgeoned to death. They are apparent victims of a random robbery, though nothing of value appears to have been stolen. But when Lucas Davenport looks deeper, he fears that the victims weren’t so random, and the items stolen were far from invaluable. As a pattern emerges it leads Lucas to...certainly not where he expected. Which is too bad, because the killers are expecting him. And that’s only the first surprise.

Historia
Something sinister is going on in Baronville. The rust belt town has seen four bizarre murders in the space of two weeks. Cryptic clues left at the scenes - obscure Bible verses, odd symbols - have the police stumped. Amos Decker and his FBI colleague Alex Jamison are in Baronville visiting Alex's sister and her family. It's a bleak place: a former mill and mining town with a crumbling economy and rampant opioid addiction. Decker has been there only a few hours when he stumbles on a horrific double murder scene.
