Historia
Eeny, meeny, miny, moe. Catch a tiger by its toe. It's seared into Atlee Pine's memory: the kidnapper's chilling rhyme as he chose between six-year-old Atlee and her twin sister, Mercy. Mercy was taken. Atlee was spared. She never saw Mercy again. Three decades after that terrifying night, Atlee Pine works for the FBI. She's the lone agent assigned to the Shattered Rock, Arizona resident agency, which is responsible for protecting the Grand Canyon. So when one of the Grand Canyon's mules is found stabbed to death at the bottom of the canyon - and its rider missing - Pine is called in to investigate.

Terrible writing
Revisado: 07-06-19
This book is awful. The dialogue is ridiculous and the story is dull. I usually like Baldacci, but this seems to have been written by someone else.
The narration is overblown and difficult to listen to.

Not as good as usual
Revisado: 05-16-18
I really don’t like the narrator. His attempt at an Asian accent is ridiculous. The story needed better editing. It’s long and meandering and certainly not what I’d expect from this author.

Any wedding is a big deal in the small village of Kilbane - even more so when the bride is a famous fashion model. It's also good for business; Siobhan O'Sullivan's bistro will be catering the three-day affair. When the drunken best man is disinvited, Siobhan's own beau, Macdara, gladly steps in. But finding the original best man murdered in the woods casts a pall over the nuptials. And when a second member of the wedding party is poisoned, Macdara goes from being best man to prime suspect.

Simple, cosy mystery
Revisado: 03-18-18
This series of books is easy to listen to yet the mystery is still interesting. The narrator is fine but I think she could do a better job with inflection within the context of the sentences and paragraphs; a producer or director should be more in control.

Will Robie escaped his small Gulf Coast hometown of Cantrell, Mississippi, after high school, severing all personal ties, and never looked back. Not once. Not until the unimaginable occurs. Unlike the missions Robie undertook in the service of his country, where his target was clearly defined, digging into his father's case only reveals more questions. Robie is drawn into the hidden underside of Cantrell, where he must face the unexpected and possibly deadly consequences of the long-ago choices made by father and son.

Is there anyone listening for errors or directing these narrators?
Revisado: 09-07-16
I enjoy Baldacci's stories, but have always thought his editors were a little easy on him. Some of the dialogue is just poorly written. My main problem, as this is an audio book, is the mispronunciation and poor reading skills of the professional narrators. I assumed there was someone who was at least producing the narrations, but the number of errors tells me no one is paying attention.

Predictable Story with Awful Narrator
Revisado: 06-30-16
Any additional comments?
The story is common and predictable. The description was much more entertaining than the book. The narrator is horrible. He has trouble with pronunciation and his Irish brogue is embarrassing.

Historia
In the eerie wasteland of Dartmoor, Sherlock Holmes summons his devoted wife and partner, Mary Russell, from her studies at Oxford to aid the investigation of a death and some disturbing phenomena of a decidedly supernatural origin. Through the mists of the moor there have been sightings of a spectral coach made of bones carrying a woman long-ago accused of murdering her husband - and of a hound with a single glowing eye.

Can't take the narrator anymore
Revisado: 05-29-16
What made the experience of listening to The Moor: A Novel of Suspense Featuring Mary Russell and Sherlock Holmes the most enjoyable?
The story is great and writing quite good.
What did you like best about this story?
I liked the setting and the references to WW1.
How did the narrator detract from the book?
She uses the most annoying voice for Holmes which makes it hard to keep going.
She also does the worst accents I've ever heard.
Was this a book you wanted to listen to all in one sitting?
I had to break it up because of the annoying narration.

Is that supposed to be a British accent?
Revisado: 05-24-16
This is a wonderful story, but the narrator attempts British accents throughout. He does not do it well. It detracts from the story and is completely unnecessary.

Why is it so hard to pronounce words properly?
Revisado: 01-01-16
Would you try another book from Alan Dean Foster and/or Marc Thompson?
The story is great but I really disliked the narration. Marc Thompson overacts, cannot use non-American accents, and pronounces words wrong. I will keep away from this narrator from now on.
