Historia
We live in a world that’s obsessed with talent. We celebrate gifted students in school, natural athletes in sports, and child prodigies in music. But admiring people who start out with innate advantages leads us to overlook the distance we ourselves can travel. We underestimate the range of skills that we can learn and how good we can become. We can all improve at improving. And when opportunity doesn’t knock, there are ways to build a door.

Full of great examples and anecdotes
Revisado: 02-21-24
I should start by saying I’m a fan of his podcasts and I like the way he presents his ideas chock full of examples and real life storytelling.
This book didn’t disappoint- and while I felt a bit guilty listening to the audiobook in the chapter where he was talking about learning styles and how written is better to take in information - I took comfort in listening to the book in his own voice - in the same way Adam is usually with me during my morning commute.
Great examples - great storytelling and I’ll probably buy the hard copy at some point to ensure I’ve properly absorbed the content of the book (like a sponge :-)).
Would recommend.

Historia
Two kids meet in a hospital gaming room in 1987. One is visiting her sister, the other is recovering from a car crash. The days and months are long there. Their love of video games becomes a shared world—of joy, escape and fierce competition. But all too soon that time is over, fades from view. When the pair spot each other eight years later in a crowded train station, they are catapulted back to that moment. The spark is immediate, and together they get to work on what they love—making games.

Thought provoking story of a generation
Revisado: 10-31-23
What a great read. Loved everything about this book, from the way the author describes the characters, builds them over generations and carries themes throughout to the touching on of many topical experiences of a generation in a non-confrontational way. One of my top reads for sure!
