Historia
In June 2021, the whole world was listening as Britney Spears spoke in open court. The impact of sharing her voice—her truth—was undeniable, and it changed the course of her life and the lives of countless others. The Woman in Me reveals for the first time her incredible journey—and the strength at the core of one of the greatest performers in pop music history. Written with remarkable candor and humor, Spears’s groundbreaking book illuminates the enduring power of music and love—and the importance of a woman telling her own story, on her own terms, at last.

No wonder!
Revisado: 10-26-23
I first starting follow Britney on Instagram after seeing the Netflix special about her, and thought, “this girl is mentally ill.” But, after hearing her story I get it now.
As a mother, my heart breaks for her not being allowed to see her kids. And what pieces of s@&# her family still are!
I think sometimes we forget celebrities are human and have feelings like the rest of us. Even though most of her IG posts are bizarre and leave me scratching my head, she’s still a human being that has been through a lot of crap in her life. I have much more empathy for her after listening to her story.
Michelle Williams is a great narrator!

Historia
From the woman who is credited for launching what we know as the celebrity focused, “brand” driven, social media obsessed popular culture of today, comes an honest and surprising memoir that reckons with that truth, and shows that there is so much more to Paris Hilton than you might believe. This extended edition includes a bonus chapter detailing her motherhood journey.

Better than I expected it to be
Revisado: 03-21-23
This was a really good memoir. I enjoyed it from beginning to end. I was never a fan of Paris Hilton. I thought she was just a spoiled, bratty, rich girl and got so sick of hearing her name in the media. I apologize for that, Paris. She's a mature, smart, caring woman now, and her advocacy work is something to be admired. She went through some hell as a teen as many have, but what she endured was, as she says, "beyond." This memoir makes me look at her in a different light now. Definitely recommend.
I'm glad she narrated, because I love when authors narrate their own story, especially when they have such a soothing voice as Paris has.

Historia
At 15, Elizabeth Gilpin was an honor student, a state-ranked swimmer, and a rising soccer star, but behind closed doors, her undiagnosed depression was wreaking havoc on her life. Growing angrier by the day, she began skipping practices and drinking to excess. At a loss, her parents turned to an educational consultant who suggested Elizabeth be enrolled in a behavioral modification program. That recommendation would change her life forever.

Terrible narration
Revisado: 03-16-22
Why did the author narrate her story?! I could not wait to finish listening due to her very monotone, robotic voice. I also would’ve like to know what was it in her past that caused her to be so angry. I wouldn’t recommend this book.

They were America's Team - the high-priced, high-glamour, high-flying Dallas Cowboys of the 1990s, who won three Super Bowls and made as many headlines off the field as on it. Led by Emmitt Smith, the charismatic Deion "Prime Time" Sanders, and Hall of Famers Troy Aikman and Michael Irvin, the Cowboys rank among the greatest of all NFL dynasties.

I wish I had not listened
Revisado: 03-08-22
I love the Dallas Cowboys, but I wish I were still blissfully ignorant of what a bunch of arrogant, prideful a-holes many of these guys were.
The narrator could definitely be better. It made me crazy hearing him say, “Atlanta Fulcons.” I was glad when it was over.

Just crazy
Revisado: 02-22-22
Diane Downs was one messed up woman. Ann Rule does a good job telling the story of this horrific crime. Not sure why I listened to this because it's beyond my capacity to understand how a mother could KILL her children. If you enjoy true crime like I do you will like this book. I can't say you'll enjoy it because of the subject matter, but the story is interesting.

Historia
With courage, grace, and powerful insight, bestselling author Kristin Hannah captures the epic panorama of World War II and illuminates an intimate part of history seldom seen: the women's war. The Nightingale tells the stories of two sisters, separated by years and experience, by ideals, passion and circumstance, each embarking on her own dangerous path toward survival, love, and freedom in German-occupied, war-torn France—a heartbreakingly beautiful novel that celebrates the resilience of the human spirit and the durability of women. It is a novel for everyone, a novel for a lifetime.

Revisado: 02-22-22
One of the best books I listened to since "Where the Crawdads Sing." If you love World War 2 stories, then you'll love this. Although it's fictional, the events surrounding the story are factual. I'm not sure I want to see the movie because the book is always superior, plus I will be sobbing like a child because it's so emotional.
The narrator is top-notch. Highly, highly recommend.

Historia
Cleary, North Carolina, is a sleepy mountain town, the kind of place where criminal activity is usually limited to parking violations. Not so, lately. Four women have disappeared from Cleary over the past two years. And there's always a blue ribbon left near the spot where each of the women was last seen. There are no bodies, no other clues, and no suspicion as to who their abductor might be. And now, another woman has disappeared without a trace.

The narrator ruined this book
Revisado: 02-04-22
I had to force myself to finish this book because the narrator is so horrible! I think I would've liked it a lot more if it weren't for the fact that he sounded like Chris Kattan from Saturday Night Live (nothing wrong with Christ Kattan but it's not a voice for narration). And the voices he used for the characters were never consistent, and they usually sounded like complete morons. I found myself rolling my eyes many times! Other than that, the book is okay.
