Good Mystery and Good Narration

Story moved at a fast pace from the first few moments of the story until the very end. I have to admit, that I did not guess who the "bad" guy was until nearly the end. Which for me is a plus. There were also some very good subplots going on at the same time. I had no problem distinguishing between each of the story lines and their characters. Overall, I give this a solid four out of five stars all the way around.

Great Story and Even Better Narration - But . . .

I really enjoyed this story and the dual narration with Mr. York and Ms. Wolfe are excellent. I really want to comment on this practice of stretching out one book into two. Audio books are my guilty pleasure but I'm now having to decide which books to buy depending on their affordability. Now I have to fork over another credit for a story that is less than six hours long. Or I have to pay nearly $18 for a book no longer than a novella. At least somebody's making money, because I'm surely not.

Decent all the way around

Good chemistry between the characters, good narration, and best of all, no cliffhanger. This is a stand-alone novel. No need to listen to Book 1 in the series.

Story kept my interest all the way through. Just the right amount of angst, romance, sex and drama. Ending is a little anti-climatic, but overall a decent story.

I Want a Man Like Brock - I mean "Slim"

I only write reviews when I find something special, and "Wild Man" is special. I loved the story and the narration, but most of all, I loved the characters. There's great smex, but it's not every other page - but what is there is hot!

The relationship between Tess and Brock is a treasure. I'm listening to the story for about the third time while I'm writing this review.

If you love alpha males, endearing secondary characters, ex-wives you love to hate, hot smex and great chemistry between your hero and heroine, then this book is for you.

I Can't Believe It!

I thought there was no way this author could top On Dublin Street. I thought Jo would be a superficial character, maybe a bit two-dimensional. Boy, was I wrong. Not only did I listen to this audio book straight through, but I listened to it again when I was done.

I loved this book as much as the first. I honestly can't say which one I loved more. The story was great, the characters were wonderful and the narration was perfect Thank you Samantha Young for another great story. This is one I will treasure like an old friend.

One of the Best Romances Ever

Where does The Edge of Never rank among all the audiobooks you’ve listened to so far?

It's in my top 5 all-time favorites. I listened to twice in a row.

What did you like best about this story?

The chemistry, between the two characters is electric. The dialogue is fantastic. You can visualize these two incredible people falling in love.

What about Lauren Fortgang’s performance did you like?

Great voice characterization. She performs Andrew's voice flawlessly.

If you were to make a film of this book, what would be the tag line be?

Camryn took a road trip to find herself but what she found was her soul mate.

This book grabbed me from the first few words. I was sad when it ended, and that's why I listened to it all over again.

Only if the hero wants to try and grovel better.

When men behave badly and they want to be forgiven, then they need to grovel. Oh and did I mention that they need to grovel better?

Just Keeps Getting Better and Better!

Would you consider the audio edition of Fourth Grave Beneath My Feet to be better than the print version?

N/A - I haven't read the print version. That's why I have Audible. Now I can listen to my favorite authors while cleaning the house, driving down the road, grocery shopping . . .

Who was your favorite character and why?

Charley! She's one of my all-time favorite characters. You just never know what she's going to do next.

Which character – as performed by Lorelei King – was your favorite?

Reyes Farrow - his voice is so sexy. Lorelei King is a truly talented performer. It's a real treat to listen to a female narrator who can pull off a believable male voice without sounding like she has a cold.

Was this a book you wanted to listen to all in one sitting?

I did listen to it in one sitting. I started when I got up in the morning and was still listening at dinnertime.

Any additional comments?

Darynda Jones is a truly talented writer. I know this series gets compared to Evanovich's Stephanie Plum series (which I also read), but the Charley Davidson series is better written and much more original.

Insufferable Angst!

What would have made Surrender to Me better?

A listener/reader can only take so much angst. Kata's constant "If I give in to him, then I'll lose myself, blah, blah blah . . ." gets tiresome after the first 100 times she says it or thinks it. After the 200th time she says it, you just have to start hitting the fast forward button. If the author pulled back from this even just a little, it might have saved this book.

What was most disappointing about Shayla Black’s story?

Kata's constant whining.

Which character – as performed by Lexi Maynard – was your favorite?

The only two characters I actually enjoyed listening to were Logan and his father.

Any additional comments?

Just tone down the back-and-forth "I want him, I don't want him." Listeners/Readers in general are not stupid. Authors don't need to kill a dead horse, resurrect it, and keep on killing it just to get a point across. After a while it just kills the story - not the horse.
