Historia
From the author of the classic mysteries starring the irrepressible CIA spy, Mrs. Pollifax, comes a delightfully different mystery with a most unholy twist. Filled with all the hilarious surprises and good old-fashioned suspense that her fans have come to love, A Nun in the Closet is the story of two high-spirited nuns who accidentally stumble into a dangerous plot involving ghosts, gangsters, and Protestants.

S always, the characters are well developed and the ending is at once unexpected and yet makes perfect sense. Love it!

Excellent, engrossing story!
Revisado: 01-12-25
This was recommended to me by someone on Reddit. I’m so glad I took their advice! A wonderful story with thoroughly likable characters. What a pleasure to listen a book where the story is strong enough that it needs no undue profanity or sex. I’m definitely looking forward to the next one!

Historia
The story opens with the apparently accidental drowning of a sixth form student in the Norfolk countryside. As a matter of routine, or so it seems, the case passes across the desk of Detective Sergeant Smith, recently returned to work after an internal investigation into another case that has led to tensions between officers at Kings Lake police headquarters. As an ex-DCI, Smith could have retired by now, and it is clear that some of his superiors wish that he would do so.

Retracing the PI's trail back to New York, Reacher's compelled to find out who was looking for him and why. He never expects the reasons to be so personal - and twisted.

Ok, not great.
Revisado: 07-12-24
Disappointing after book 1. It was difficult for me to sympathize with any of the characters in this book. The villains were almost cartoonish, and the heroes were also one dimensional. Hopefully the next book will be better.

It’s officially booty o’clock, I’m alone again in my kitchen choking down a slice of terrible chocolate cake…and I’m pretty sure I just got drunk texted by the man I have a ginormous crush on. I’ve been daydreaming about Eliot Hoffman’s dimples for two months, and even though I’m sure this was a mistake on his end, it doesn’t mean it’s not an opportunity on mine. It’s the middle of the night, and I just wanna talk to him. So I text him back.

Just Perfect
Revisado: 02-02-24
You know that feeling when you arrive at your favorite vacation spot after week’s of months of chaos and stress? And you finally begin to relax? That is what this book feels like. It’s not “edge of your seat” suspenseful or challenging or gritty, etc. It’s just a wonderful, sweet, love story with two beautifully flawed, kind and funny people. The characters are well developed and the narration is excellent. So, take off your shoes and put your feet in the warm sand and enjoy this book!

Historia
Retired publisher Susan Ryeland is living the good life. She is running a small hotel on a Greek island with her long-term boyfriend Andreas. It should be everything she's always wanted. But is it? She's exhausted with the responsibilities of making everything work on an island where nothing ever does, and truth be told, she's beginning to miss London. And then the Trehearnes come to stay. The strange story they tell about an unfortunate murder that took place on the same day and in the same hotel in which their daughter was married fascinates Susan and piques her editor's instincts.

Historia
“You shouldn’t be here. It’s too late....” These, heard over the phone, were the last recorded words of successful celebrity-divorce lawyer Richard Pryce, found bludgeoned to death in his bachelor pad with a bottle of wine - a 1982 Chateau Lafite worth £3,000, to be precise. Odd, considering he didn’t drink. Why this bottle? And why those words? And why was a three-digit number painted on the wall by the killer? And, most importantly, which of the man’s many, many enemies did the deed?

A very interesting story, fall of twist and turns. Hawthorne is a fascinating character that Horowitz develops nicely. The narrator does a nice job, overall. Anxious to read the next one.

With all of the pluck and charm of its eponymous young hero, Rachel McAdams (The Notebook, Spotlight, Midnight in Paris) delivers a spectacular reading of Montgomery's beloved bildungsroman. In moments both funny and bittersweet, McAdams' voice is imbued with the spark that has made Anne a much-loved symbol of individualism and cheer for over a century.
