Historia
When Sylvester, the Duke of Salford, first meets Phoebe Marlow, he finds her dull and insipid. She thinks he is insufferably arrogant. But when a series of unforeseen events leads them to be stranded together in a lonely country inn, they are both forced to reassess their hastily formed opinions, and they begin to discover a new-found liking and respect for each other. But what Sylvester doesn’t know is that Phoebe is about to publish a novel - a novel in which all London will recognize him as the villainous ‘Count Ugolino’

I love this book. Listened to it many times, but so impressed by the narration. He is spot on with inflection and the humor shines through!

Historia
Eighteen-year-old Brooke is the kind of friend who not only remembers everyone’s birthdays, but also organizes the group present, pays for it, and politely chases others for their share. She’s the helper, the doer, the maker-of spreadsheets. She’s the responsible one who always follows the rules—and she plans to keep it that way during her first year of college. Her student housing only has one rule: "no unnecessary drama." Which means no fights, tension, or romance between roommates. When one of them turns out to be Jesse, her high-school nemesis, Brooke is determined she can handle it.

Save mice from death?
Revisado: 10-22-24
Started a little slow but improved with each chapter. Haven't seen such a cute mouse / human relationship since Cinderella. The mice poop still grosses me out and I would NEVER have eaten any food from her house.

Historia
Imagine if you made one little mistake when you were young and were punished for it for the rest of your life. Well, that’s what happened to Lydia (yes, that Lydia, the youngest Bennet sister from Pride and Prejudice), and she’s here to set the record straight. Hold on to your teacups and get ready for sophisticated (and a little bit naughty) hot takes and witty banter that’ll make you laugh—and think. We meet Lydia just as she is denounced by her family, exiled miles from home, and married to the rogue George Wickham, who seems to love all women...except his own wife.

Music?
Revisado: 10-09-24
The music distracted from what would have otherwise been a delightful listen.
The story of Lydia and Wickham has a fun change from any others I heard.

Enjoyed the story, but the narrator distracted from the overall enjoyment of the book. I dreaded each new chapter to be introduced by the narrator's bizarre reading .

Good enough story, but...
Revisado: 10-18-23
I have 300 books in my library and this is the first time I almost quit a book because of the narrator. The reading started grating on my nerves about chapter 5 and it just got worse. The inflection and words drawn out? Not sure how to describe it, but don't think the characters spoke that way in my head.

I read this book in print. I actually liked it. This audio version is the first time I have to return a book because of the narration. She is either very loud or very soft - both hard to listen to. I finally gave up.

Liked the first book much better. This book was so sappy and if I heard how perfect the groom was one more time I think I would scream.
Lots of talk about infertility.
