The writer performing the read gives the tempo needed for emphasis of slow, fast and thoughtful. This is a heartbreaking story but also a tale of coming of age in one of the most inhumane conditions. It tells of corruption, ego of those in power, and real redemption of the Author. It is a MUST listen

This book is so refreshingly pure in thought.

The clarity and thoughtfulness in all the expressions of growth were liberating. Listening to Ms. Whoopi's life story, you can vividly imagine yourself experiencing it alongside her. You nod knowingly and hold your breath as she recounts the peaks and valleys of her life, including career. You empathize as she describes the love and connectedness of family, and the tough decisions that come with it. The discussion on grief feels like a toolkit. I'm so thankful for this one!
