Historia
Innocent people do go to jail. Sometimes mistakes are made. But even more terrifying is when the authorities conspire to frame them. That's what happened to Steven Avery and Brendan Dassey, who were convicted of murder and are serving life sentences. Un-Making a Murderer is an explosive book which uncovers the illegal, devious, and covert tactics used by Wisconsin officials.

Tons of New Information
Revisado: 01-29-21
I read reviews and almost returned this book within minutes of starting it. Yes, it's true that the narrator reads very fast. I usually have my speed set at 1:20 and I had to back him down to .95. It's also true that he uses some crazy impressions, some are poking fun, but most of them are pretty darn accurate, even if a characture of reality. They are certainly well researched. As for the writing, there are several times where the author uses long transcripts of events in telling this story. Surprisingly, with all I've read and researched, there were a lot of chunks of testimony that I've never heard. I don't agree with his end theory about meth users, but I think even as he says this, he still captures the essence of my number one suspect. I will admit that there is some antagonistic writing and it's will be off-putting to a guilter, but this information deserves a second look by the courts. I know, Zellner is trying.... Beyond a shadow of a doubt, there is so much room for doubt.

An insider exposes the shocking facts deliberately left out of the hit Netflix series Making a Murderer - and argues persuasively that Steven Avery was rightfully convicted in the 2005 killing of Teresa Halbach.

Not Entirely unbiased
Revisado: 01-15-21
while I feel this was the most unbiased booked I've read regarding this case, it left a lot of holes. there are so many ways that this Author said he did his for diligence, but I think he was blindsided by choosing between Steven Avery and his "brothers in brown". He claimed Steven and Brendon's guilt without considering that neither are entirely guilty and neither are entirely innocent. The truth often lies in the middle. That is where we should be looking for answers to this case.

Historia
In 2016-17, while working for the USA Today Network’s Wisconsin Investigative Team, author John Ferak wrote dozens of articles examining the murder case again Steven Avery, who had already beat one wrongful conviction only to be charged with the murder of Teresa Halbach in 2005. In Wrecking Crew, Ferak lays out in exacting detail the post-conviction strategy of Kathleen Zellner, the high-profile, high-octane lawyer, to free Avery.

Lots of redundancy
Revisado: 01-13-21
Not well organized, lots of redundancy. Some new information but not well written. This is the first time I've read a book with exact sentences/quotes used twice through the book and this happens multiple times. It made me think I bumped the chapter button. The book isn't organized chronologically or by individual so it makes it difficult to follow. I've been following the Avery/Dassey case for several years and at the end of this read, I feel more aware of why they are pointing fingers toward another person/persons, but I still feel the writing was shoddy.

Can't get past the robotic droll of the narrator.

Watched the Netflix series and was captivated but the narrator makes this a difficult listen.

Not many books make me gasp at the end. This one did. Far fetched but entertaining with a surprise ending! Enjoy!

Incredible read!
Revisado: 07-26-19
This is not my typical genre of book, but I started it on a recommendation and based on the reviews. It was an incredible story. I couldn't put it down!
