In my review of the last book, I stated that I would not be continuing with this series after this book if the abusive work environmet wasn't resolved. Thankfully it was. While I would have chosen another way, I'm just happy Overall, this book was good. There were a couple of story lines that could have been fleshed out some. Such as the lighthouse family and her relationship with Michael. All and all, I'm thrilled that I don't have to read about PSI anymore and, particularly Cara. I will continue to follow Ellie and her ghost trapper team.

Fatal Chaos equals fatal reader

I have followed this series from the beginning. It was a series that I tracked released of each new book and put the date on my calendar for purchase. NOT ANYMORE. I can't take the sexual exploits of the main characters anymore. I very much enjoy all of the other writing: the case, the drama around the president, the byplay with Sam and her squad, and Sam, Nick and Scotty. I will miss them very much; however, the explicit sex has taken over. I am not a prude but come on......

Abusive work environment!

There are no words strong enough for me to express my disappointment on the direction the author has taken with this series. In the past, the books were a fun scare. Now they are a painful experience. The new work environment is abusive...both verbally and physically. Unfortunately I bought this book and the one following so am pressing on in hopes that I will see a return of the original scare factor without the abuse. If I don't, I will delete this author from my "favorite" list.

Rediscovering the joy.

I can not tell you how much I am enjoying this new series. It is a pure joy to experience and rediscover the world and society through Nell's eyes. Pleased that we are seeing some of Rick's story. I see future Jane Yellowrock and Nell storyline crossover and that will be an excellent thing. Can't wait for the next books in each series. Faith Hunter has done it again.

What did you love best about Dry Bones?

When I first heard about the concept for this book I couldn't imagine where Mr Johnson was going to go. As always he gave us a book full of excitement, laughter, and even tears. (No spoilers). I truly enjoyed Dry Bones. I particularly enjoy the conversations between Walt and The Cheynne Nation. If only we could all have a friendship that has endured so many years and so many adventures.

What other book might you compare Dry Bones to and why?

I think this series stands alone. I have continued my quest to find another that is at least as good but so far I have not had any luck.

Which scene was your favorite?

I enjoyed all conversations between Walt and Vic and Walt and Henry!

Did you have an extreme reaction to this book? Did it make you laugh or cry?

Yes I did. I was completely taken by surprise with one turn of events and I admit to shedding tears. Again...no spoilers.

Any additional comments?

This might be my favorite series.

I love Nora Roberts but I coan not stand this narrator. I will read the book.

Keeps getting better and better!

Eve, Rourke, and gang just keep getting better and better. I was VERY thrilled to have Mavis back in the mix. I have missed her and it was great to get some back story on her. Did miss Feeney and Peabody's main squeeze though. I've always enjoyed all of the interactions of main cast; however, I suppose, it's just like life that the relationships and envolvements in cases ebb and flow.

Not a Plum!

I know this is a new series and, as such, will develop over time but I was disappointed on many levels. First of all, it was a hard listen. Scott Brick's delivery seemed flat. There wasn't much change between characters. More of a straight "read" than performance. If the story hadn't been interesting I would have given up. As for the story, because it was such a unique storyline, it kept my interest; however, put all thoughts of Stephanie Plumb and her antics out of your mind. There is no comparison. The out loud laughter factor that I always find with Stephanie is nonexistent and Nick is no Ranger!!!!

All of that said, the book is about cons and is written with creativity. I do give the ending two stars though. It was rushed and very flat. It would be a five star series with a couple of changes. A new narrator and better endings. The narrator should be one who can infuse the characters with personalities and identities. As for the endings? Continue to write with the same imagination and creativity that got us to that spot in the first place.

Championship Story

The trophy goes to Asprin and Levine. Another excellent addition to this series. Asprin writes a witty story and Levine's delivery is unsurpassed.

Almost all of the gang is back and we meet a few new ones. All come together to play in the championship game to rescue Tanda and keep the trophy that she set out to steal and ended up captured for her efforts. This all takes place on the dimension of Jock that includes the towns of Vegas and Tahoe. It's a rollicking good story full of twists and turns and surprises.
