Historia
World-class gentleman felon Jack Foley is busting out of Florida's Glades Prison when he runs head on into a shotgun-wielding Karen Sisco. Suddenly he's sharing a cramped car trunk with the classy, disarmed federal marshal and the chemistry is working overtime - and as soon as she escapes, he's already missing her. But there are bad men and a major score waiting for Jack in Motown. And the next time his path crosses Karen's, chances are she's going to be there for business, not pleasure.

Classic Elmore Leonard, Fantastic Characters
Revisado: 05-20-13
Where does Out of Sight rank among all the audiobooks you’ve listened to so far?
Out of Sight would be close to the top of my list.
What other book might you compare Out of Sight to and why?
This book was somewhat similar to other crime books that are character based, such as Mystic River. And of course very much in Leonard's signature style in books such as Killshot.
Any additional comments?
Many of Leonard's characters are very authentic and relatable, but surprisingly complex. Jack Foley is great as the consummate criminal, a bank robber, yet one somehow with class and grace on his own terms. He doesn't care for the crass crimes of some of the other criminals he falls in with.
Karen Sisco is a great character too. She plays by her own rules and has a great way of asking forgiveness rather than permission. Fatally flawed, yet a very effective agent.

Historia
In AD 866, Uhtred, a boy of 10 and the son of a nobleman, is captured in the same battle that leaves his father dead. His captor is the Earl Ragnar, a Danish chieftain, who raises the boy as his own, teaching him the Viking ways of war. As a young man expected to partake in raids and bloody massacres of the English, he grapples with divided loyalties, torn between Ragnar, the warrior he loves like a father, and Alfred, whose piety and introspection leave him cold.

Engaging Story, Excellent Narration
Revisado: 05-20-13
What did you love best about The Last Kingdom?
This book is very accessible historical fiction, with plenty of action, well-developed characters, and thought-provoking themes. It's both intelligent and at the same time exciting. The style and tone remind me a lot of the better-written fantasy books I've read, except it's based in real history and there is just about no supernatural stuff going on.
Who was your favorite character and why?
My favorite character is the main character, Uhtred. He is shrewd and practical, yet has his own, consisten principles. He's complex yet relatable.
What does Jamie Glover bring to the story that you wouldn’t experience if you just read the book?
Glover's voicing for individual characters is great. They are distinct, and seem highly appropriate to the way the characters are written.
