This was a great book! If you idolize movie stars it might jade your perception but it’s a great reminder that even though it was almost 100 years ago peoples behaviors don’t change much.

Pygmalion demonstrated
Revisado: 07-10-24
Jimmy Johnson has always been a favorite coach of mine, after reading Bill Walsh I was expecting a book listing a timeline of Jimmys life and his favorite football plays. It’s the opposite, he bounces around stories of his life never staying too long in one spot. However his secret wasn’t the plays or the speeches it was how he instilled /inspired others to achieve beyond their capabilities.
This book was very entertaining but it just wasn’t about football, it’s about life.

Historia
Four days before Christmas in 1943, a badly damaged American bomber struggled to fly over wartime Germany. At its controls was a 21-year-old pilot. Half his crew lay wounded or dead. It was their first mission. Suddenly a sleek, dark shape pulled up on the bomber’s tail - a German Messerschmitt fighter. Worse, the German pilot was an ace, a man able to destroy the American bomber with the squeeze of a trigger.

A must read for all airmen, soldiers and seaman
Revisado: 07-10-24
Never, ever heard of a story like this one. The book is excellently written and caused me to ponder the plight of the Germans and German military. Too often they are blamed for everything the Nazis did and their struggle is overlooked. From a military standpoint it is hard to imagine the struggles the Army Air Corp faced not just in combat but flying 300+ platforms in the sky at once.
If you are serving in the military or just an avid student of history this is a must read!

Just finished “Atlas Shrugged” which I enjoyed very much. If you are new to Ayn Rand then you should start with “The Fountainhead” 1st and then read “Atlas Shrugged” this book is well written and has some great characters but it is unrealistic which should be normal for most novels except Rand is trying to promote her philosophy

Arguably one of the most provocative, puzzling, and misunderstood organizations of medieval times, the legendary Knights Templar have always been shrouded in a veil of mystery, while inspiring popular culture from Indiana Jones to Dan Brown. In The Templars, author Michael Haag offers a definitive history of these loyal Christian soldiers of the Crusades - sworn to defend the Holy Land and Jerusalem, but ultimately damned and destroyed by the Pope and his church.

Great Story! Needs a better narration
Revisado: 01-09-24
I saw the TV series first and was pleased that they followed the book, although the book is much better due to the details.
However, the narrator does a poor job. As the voice of “grace” she is excellent but she doesn’t change voices for any of the other characters and at times this story drones on and on and on….
Overall this story is very entertaining.

I never was fully enamored with the archer series but Cromwell summed it up nicely. It was entertaining but not as riveting as his other novels, Agincourt & the Last Kingdom.
