Historia
A part of me wants to run away again. The memory of my death still haunts my dreams. But this is my home now. And I'll be damned if I give it up without a fight. I mean, all I have to do is learn how to navigate xianxia politics and train for battle while simultaneously running my farm and uncovering an ancient cataclysm that apparently destroyed the Azure Hills back in the day. Meanwhile, I'm about to be a father . . . Man, I'm kinda screwed, aren't I? At least I can call in the cavalry—ahem, poultry—to help.

Good hearted.
Revisado: 01-25-25
It is a great pleasure to listen to this continuing yarn narrated by a master. I enjoyed the sly sense of humor and the good hearted common sense.

Historia
A house embedded with an artificial intelligence is a common thing: a house that is an artificial intelligence, infused with a thinking creature that is not human? That is something else. But now Deniau's been dead a year, and Rose House is locked up tight, as commanded by the architect's will: all his possessions and files and sketches are confined in its archives, and their only keeper is Rose House itself. Rose House, and one other.

More than future detective Noir
Revisado: 04-07-24
Poetic, indefinite and haunting from beginning to end. Sculpts the substance and bizarre intelligence of Rose/House by proxy interactions until it is fully present and inescapable. This book is art, not genre.

If you could sum up Their Eyes Were Watching God in three words, what would they be?
Hope
Narrative
Character
Who was your favorite character and why?
All of them - that's the thing that is so great.
Have you listened to any of Ruby Dee’s other performances before? How does this one compare?
would like to.
Did you have an extreme reaction to this book? Did it make you laugh or cry?
Yes
Any additional comments?
I read this book in school and it did nothing for me - I didn't have the experience or the ear for the dialect to understand the subtleties. Ruby Dee made it real.
