One of my favorites!
Revisado: 04-09-24
What a wonderful story! I learned so much about our Country, and about my own state of California and the role we played during world war 2. I was shocked to find out how bad we treated the Japanese American people, and that we actually had Japanese internment camps right here close to were I live? The narrator was perfect! and the story had so much!! It made me laugh, it made me cry (tears of sorrow and of happiness)...It was such a wonderful story, and it really touched me in so many ways. highly recommend this book!! you will not be disappointed

redundant
Revisado: 03-07-20
I was very disappointed with this story. I suffered through many slow parts of the story, only to get to a VERY sad part of the story, and then the sad part was repeated in another persons point of view. It was very drawn out and the ending was non climactic.
The narrator did a great job.

what a fabulous story
Revisado: 05-17-19
what a great story from beginning to end. It kept me captivated through so many pleasantly unexpected twists, turns, adventures and characters. Even though it was a 20 hour story, it never got boring. The narrator did an EXCELLENT job as well. I wish there were A LOT more stories that were written so well, and with so much imagination .

Historia
When Marshall McEwan left his hometown at age 18, he vowed never to return. The trauma that drove him away ultimately spurred him to become one of the most successful journalists in Washington DC. But just as the political chaos in the nation’s capital lifts him to new heights, Marshall is forced to return home in spite of his boyhood vow. His father is dying, his mother is struggling to keep the family newspaper from failing, and the town is in the midst of an economic rebirth that might be built upon crimes that reach into the state capitol - and perhaps even to Washington.
